CLI-8 and CLI-521/526 swap

Here is a comparison cli-521 vs cli-8:

In the first section you can find the inner dimensions of the chambers. The second section is for ink volume. If I remember correctly the volumes in the second section is for a overfilled cartridge after it stopped dripping.

A cli-8 holds more ink than a cli-521,526. In both chambers.

Are the sponges in the CLI-8 and newer ones identical? There is possibly that factor to consider as well. Don't know.

OK here’s an up-date on my converted 5 year old iP4700 printer.

Since the new extra-large cartridge installation (CLl-8's) nearly two years ago, this machine has been working away just like normal as it should with no ill effects, and I am delighted with this whole new set-up, Thanks @Tudor.

I only have the large cartridges to refill now which makes things a lot easier than before, there’s a couple of BCl-6’s, CLl-42’s and the rest are CLl-8’s, it was well worth the trouble messing around with the print head carriage..
