Cleaning solution application/methods for Canon Print heads?

My MP730 (released in 2003) is still going strong (on it's second print head, with a spare head in waiting). Never had a clog in the head. Had a Pigment clog in the purge unit, which I cleared (took several hours to disassemble/clean, wash out diapers, re-assemble). Still works with Windows 10, too! Carts are easy to refill, no chips. You can reset the waste ink pads with a series of button pushes.

Many thousands of pages printed...I attribute part of this longevity to always printing in "quite mode"...and using it almost daily!

Within 10 seconds of reading this I went straight into Print Settings / Quiet Settings and switched from 'Use Quiet Mode During Specific Hours' to 'Always Use Quiet Mode'
