I've been getting lines in the print when using my Pixma Pro 100s and running the cleaning cycle has made no difference. I bought some cleaning fluid and currently have the printhead sat in about 1/4 of an inch of it and it appears to be removing a lot of ink. I'm going to leave it sat in the cleaning fluid overnight but I'm not sure what to do when I take it out of the fluid and before I put it back in the printer.

Should I wash the cleaning fluid from the printhead, wash out the lines etc, or do I just let it dry and then put it back in the printer? Not sure what the best procedure is at this point in the process.

If you are having issues with your prints, it’s mostly down to your cartridges not delivering an adequate flow of ink to the paper, 3rd party inks will leave small amounts of old ink behind in the carts.

Leaving the print head in a purchased cleaning solution is not always a good thing, a homemade solution is always best, because you need to protect the print head from corrosion with these solutions. (Short term is ok)

Wash and rinse the head afterwards and shake vigorously then leave to dry in a very warm place, make sure it is completely dry and free from all moisture, it’s also a good thing to use another set of good cartridges, then your first print should be a nozzle checks, never a test print.. !

Cleaning your print head outside of the printer is not always recommended, because it can do harm to the internal electronics, when you get poor print quality its 99% sure it’s the cartridges and not the print head..

Footnote:- Jose Rodriguez is a great man for advice on colour reproduction, (Recommended) but lousy for print quality issues, yes he makes lots of videos but makes quite a bit of cash from it too..
