Hello,
I recently bought a Canon PIXMA TR4755i, which came with some starter cartridges. I also signed up for the PIXMA subscription, and they sent me two subscription cartridges.

I printed a few items using the starter cartridges without any issues, but when the ink started running low, I switched to the subscription cartridges. Immediately, I received an error (1651) stating there was a server error. I double-checked my account, and my subscription is definitely active. When I switched back to the starter cartridges, I still encountered the same error.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I googled the error 1651 and it means "Cannot connect to server". When using the subscription service it is necessary that Canon can read the printer's usage data from the EEPROM. Like with service mode operations where you also read and possibly write to the EEPROM a USB connection must be used. LAN or WLAN connection does not work. My guess is that the problem could be caused by not using a USB connection to the printer.

The printer's type number TR4755i suggests it is a European model. Canon USA lists TR4720 and TR4722 models. The Canon region number for Europe is 5 and for North America meaning USA and Canada it is 2. Could this be the cause of the problem?

The specs for both the European and American models mention wireless printing, so maybe USB connection is only needed when changing the cartridges?

Or maybe the printer somehow needs to connect to the internet? See this and scroll down to "How it works" and notice step 2. Maybe something went wrong during the setup of the printer, The procedure looks quite complicated.
