My Pro 100s has started smudging the paper with black ink. Started out as a little bit on one corner but that got worse and then it progressed to also being down the side and then also across the middle of the page in a dotted "walking ant" line.

I've tried the maintenace options such as cleaning bottom plate cleaning and roller cleaning. Also I've got the paper abrasion prevention on. These don't seem to make any difference.

I've heard you can manually clean the printer when all the options fail. Is this possible? I'm not even sure which bit I should be cleaning or how to do it. Does anyone have any advice on if this is something that's a viable option at this stage, and if so how do I do it?

Try flooding the purge unit a few times and also spray the whole area around the purge unit with window cleaner and wipe excess ink away, that may help..
