I'm currently running firmware version 1.04 on my Pro-100 and noticed that there is an update currently available as version 1.1. Does anyone know what this new version adds or corrects and is it worthwhile to update? Thanks.

Someone once said if it ain't broke then don’t fix it, so what I’d trying to say is if your printer is working ok then why tempt faith, firmware updates are never a good thing if there’s nothing actually wrong with your printer, I’d say don’t but then I know how bad they can be to a perfectly good working printer..

you are right dear you can update to new version 1.1! becarefull from download source, since its noted in Canon website:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer?pageKeyCode=prdAdvDetail&docId=0901e02480714798

so I hope you read update first, its about inks levels and since its from trusted site ( Canon inc.) you can safety download it....
you can safety update from this link:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/profe...jet_printers/pixma_pro_100#DriversAndSoftware
click Drivers & Software
under firmware click to download.
best wishes for you

I guess at this point I don't know if I need to update my firmware. The printer seems to be working fine but I have heard that the updates relate to inefficient ink monitoring. My ink screen still shows full values for all the inks but I don't think I have printed enough to see a measurable difference. As I understand it they drop in roughly quarter segments. Any thoughts on how to figure this out?

Tigerman, Thanks for your references. I've downloaded the file from Canon's web site just am not ready to use it yet. Love your picture. It reminds me of my new little granddaughter.

This new firmware update doesn’t fix anything on your side and you won’t see any changes in your ink levels at all, but it does fix a few holes on Canons side, like adding additional steps if you ever want to refill your OEM cartridges, just beware of Greeks bearing gifts ! :hide

No offence intended @Tudor..

EDIT :bow @Tudor has forgiven me and has promised to send me to a good specialist..
