They died gloriously with their inks on.
We thank them for their service. :hugs

Great image of the gasket! Sometimes we have to follow the issue to it's bitter end. Good job, Artur. Respect. :thumbsup

The best thing to do, economically and headache-wise, is get a new printer.

Let us know what happens!

What should be done with the newer cartridges (black, cyan, and magenta)? Continuing to use those colors could cause a B200 error and make it completely useless.

Is the Canon TS9120 less flimsy than the TS8320, especially the trays?

Thank you.

Either use them to refill the new printer cartridges, if possible, or find someone who can use them, or call it the cost of moving forward.

Dunno, but Canon usually doesn't bulk up similar printer models, so expect flimsy and you won't be disappointed. Go to a store that displays the printer and see for yourself. Purchase from a vendor with a good return policy. Learn to live with the design weaknesses.

The Maxify has a flimsy output paper catch. Don't like it but learned to be consciously more careful around it.

Now the Pigment Black cartridge is only half filled. The black and cyan just drain over time, and those are not involved in mixing. Appears that cleaning may not be using so much, as it is instead slow draining.

Maintenance ink purges affect all the cartridges and are to be expected. These ink purges are scheduled based on time and also after specific events, like changing a cartridge. Other manufacturers do this as well to decrease the risk of problems like clogs.

If this is unacceptable then consider a laser printer. Monochrome laser printers can be relatively cost effective to run and maintain with a good aftermarket toner. You also do not need to print as often in order to prevent clogs as with an inkjet. And, the laser printer prints are water resistant.

I do not know color laser printers, but this might be something to consider as well.

It’s a huge drop over a few days. Isn’t that more of a once per week thing? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was every day with this one, but once a week is typical.

Purging of ink occurs for many reasons and drain different amounts. A Service Manual might tell you details of when, why, and how much the purges are. User initiated events like removing a cartridge with/without installing a new cartridge and cleaning cycles also drain ink. It may also be that an internal sensor or error will cause more frequent ink purges.

Whatever is happening, your printer is unreliable and becoming costlier.

Time for a new printer.

Whenever double sided printing is used, it starts to pull the paper back and then stops and flashes 3 times for Paper Jam error, then decides it has been resolved and pulls the paper in and out in small increments several times, then rips the paper distinctly to the side and jams, then the carriage screams if the paper isn't removed quickly enough.
