Canon Pixma ip2500 cartridge error message

Hi I have a ip2500 printer which I have refilled the cartridges a few times with no problems . But I came to use it the other day and got an error message saying that colour cartridge wasn't installed correctly. The resume light is flashing 7 times (which lines up with error message) but after refitting the cartridge a few times the error will not clear any idea's
