I have a Canon Pixima MP830 which has gone on the fritz.
I'm getting error 6A00 when I turn on the printer. I've taken off the covers and cleaned the purge unit and blown some air through the printer to clear any dust that might be clouding the sensors. I'm still getting the error.
I've done some reading on this site and others and I'm thinking that I should be able to print a service page to get more detail, but when I follow the steps (and I get to the service screen correctly) I press Stop/Reset 4 times followed by the On/Off button and the printer shuts off. Should it print a test page instead?
I've got the printer apart at this point and would appreciate any thoughts you may have. I'm not eager to spend money again to get a new printer/scanner with auto feeder.
