Canon MP750 malfunction printer

I had please wait notice on the lcd panel hanging - which I managed to almost sort by cleaning contacts and unpluggin everything. Only the printer came on as normal except the warning light was flashing. I was advised to press cancel and start and now the printer has no lcd display at all. Can anyone suggest any recuscitation techniques
