Hello,

I have owned the MP610 for about a year, and have been refilling the cartridges using ink from HobbiColors.

About a month ago, I noticed that the printer is unable to print in black, but can print in other colors. I refilled the black ink, reinstalled the drivers but these didn't help.

Is it possible for any one to offer me some leads as to how to resolve this issue.

thanks in advance, Manny

Have you tried cleaning and deep cleaning of the black cart which can be selected via the Preferences/Maintenance tabs ?......If its the big Black the PG5 this may get the ink flowing again .

It might be the tubing connecting the purging unit of the pigment ink has broken. To save ink when trying to perform a deep cleaning choose only the PGI-5 nozzles to be flushed. Another thing could be the cartridge itself: the PGI-5 needs a flush every 5-7 refills to ensure good ink flow, when you use the HC pure pigment black version.
