Hi Cafaisafai said:Hi Everybody!
Can MG5370 OEM cartridges (CLI-726) be refilled?
Can Ink Level Monitoring still remain intact?
Thanks,
SAFAI
I think PeterBJ has covered everything thoroughly in his thread above for you ok..safai said:Hi The Hat!
Thank you so much for your valuable input.
May I ask you a few more questions?
- What is the correct refill method for this kind of cartridge: CLI-726? Maybe, explained somewhere in the forums?
- Is this cartridge (including the chip) the same as CLI-426?
- Can the chip be reset?
Thanks a lot, in advance.
Cheers
When your 726s get empty you can replace them with any of the 521/221 cartridgessafai
Can printers such as MG5370 which are shipped with x26 cartridges from the factory, accept x21 cartridges as suggested by PeterBJ?
I think there is no such thing as the best refill method. But two good methods that are very popular are the "German" method described here: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4315 and the topfill method. There are different opinions on how topfill is done: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=40766#p40766 and from the same thread: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=40771#p40771 Note the difference between the two methods. If you do not seal the vent you must only fill the reservoir 75% to avoid oversaturation of the sponges. If you choose the topfill method, it is very important to seal the ink reservoir completely, else the cartridge will leak. A good seal uses a low profile plug plus aluminium tape, as there is very little clearance above the cartridges in newer Canon MG and MP models. See pictures of a properly sealed cartridge here: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=56592#p56592safai wrote:

Except for the chip the cartridges are identical. You can use a CLI-426 cartridge if you replace the chip with one from a CLI-726 cartridge. There is a chance that a CLI-426 cartridge can be turned into a CLI-726 by resetting it with a 726 resetter, but I cannot tell you what your chances of success are. See this thread: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=7845- Is this cartridge (including the chip) the same as CLI-426?
Yes the PGI-725/CLI-726 cartridges can be reset with a resetter designed for PGI-725/CCI-726 cartridges. See this link for a resetter and a list of Canons different regions worldwide, scroll down to see the list: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/490914873/Chip_resetter_for_Canon_PGI_725.html?s=p There are other brands of resetter as well.- Can the chip be reset?
