Canon ix6850 12 flashes error

hi guys

I have new canon ix6850 printer which does 12 resume flashes alternating with the power light.

The head starts to move a little around the suction pump area when turned on then gives up and does the flashing thing

any ideas????

For some Canon printers the 12 resume flashes alternating with one flash from the power light is a service call alarm code meaning a problem in the purge unit or suction pump. From your description this could also be the problem with your printer. I suggest to check the purge unit/suction pump and its surroundings for material blocking it, like scraps of paper and other.

Normally the service manual is used in diagnosing the printer, but the service manual for the iX6850 seems nowhere to be found.
