Hi Nambi,

I'm going to get an ip4600 and try these:

As I already have an amazing source for ink, i just need the cartridges.

And yes, I know the auto reset is just about useless, but I know enough about Canon to know that while you can disable the ink monitoring, it's just a matter of time after that that it starts doing unrecognized ink tanks. I'm hoping the auto reset chips avoid that.

Can you tell me what's a good source for bulk ink, You said you have a good source, I don't. I was about to purchase the whole kit from the UK but shipping alone is 13 ponds, I woudl possible rather get these from 2 different sources.

I didn't know I could disable the ink monitoring, is this in the properties of the printer?

I have the ip4700 similar to the ip4600 just pulled it out of the box the other day so I have little experience with it, I'm in Canada buy I purchased mine form the US to save and now I find out the US model doesn't' print directly on the cd's when the CDN model does! crap that was one of the selling features on this printer.

PM Sent, I'm not sure if there's ink sellers on here, but I don't want to cut anybody's grass by posting links and such.

In that case, I use http://www.rjettek.com/ and Image Specialists ink, I get a better price with Image Specialists, however I buy through my company when dealing with Image Specialists.

For those Canadians ordering, be advised you will get slammed with UPS brokerage fees so order enough to make the brokerage fee worthwhile.

The Rjettek Ink is OCP, which is a really interesting Ink, it stinks to high heaven, but I find it dries really really well.

If you're in Australia or New Zealand there's a guy doing INK called Magink, and his ink works just fine for Canon.
He's at magink@froggy.com.au He actually formulates his own ink!

Just a followup on this order, seems this set of cartridges needs a rubber gasket slipped round the intake port of the print head.
I'm disappointed to say the least. I'm reminded of the nightmare that went along with CIS for the Ip4300. The smarter CIS companies realized that the gasket was necessary as the CIS carts didn't snug up properly to the print head intake port.

At this point I'm debating whether to strip the chip off these and apply them to geniune carts and refill using the German method.
I just can't believe that all these years after my CIS fiasco with Canon printers they haven't been able to properly copy a Canon cart that doesn't require gaskets.

I just don't understand why these refillable cartridges would need those gaskets and a genuine seals properly to the intake port.

Sigh

Sorry, was unclear, these ship WITH the gaskets, overall they aren't much of a problem I guess, I just thought how hard can it be to copy a canon cart lol.

Oh, you also need to take out the air hole plugs (I don't know why they are there) when printing.
I'm guessing they need to be for storage only?

Just be careful opening the box so you don't lose track of the gaskets. Wait till you see the size of the box it all comes in.

Well I'm looking forward to trying these out. I ordered ink for the place you recommended and it's also on it's way. But these empties I ordered I'm a little concerned 1stly I purchased the empties for an ip4600 assuming it's the same since the ip4600 and the ip4700 use the same cartridge.

Then I noticed the seller sold different empties for an ip4700 (go figure) so When I asked him to ship me the ip4700 ones instead (same price) the language barrier was an issue. I think he got the drift of what I was trying to say so I hope that will come through, now I hope these things work. If you have any more experience on these please post me your findings I will do the same when they arrive.

Good Luck.
