Canon CarePAK Plus extended warranty

Anyone have any experiences or opinions?

I'm thinking of buying one for my new G7020. Canon says the warranty covers normal wear and tear, but I don't know if saturated waste ink pads are considered normal.

As I understand it, Canon doesn't repair printers, they simply replace them. So I'm potentially just prepaying for a replacement printer somewhere down the road if the waste ink pad issue arises.

The cost is $50 US for 4 years of coverage (including the original 1-year warranty). The printer cost $270 US, but I got it for $230 using some online coupon codes.

So I finally got an answer from a Canon rep on their USA Support forum.

He says that this issue would be covered under the plan.

I will be purchasing this in a week or two, once their USA website comes back online. It's been offline since Aug 4 due to a ransomware attack.
