Polaroid used to make a "Dust & Scratch removal filter" for Photoshop, it worked really well, better than anything else I've tried. You can still get it from some sites.
Only problem is (I don't know if it's just my computer though), it doesn't run very well on newer Photoshop versions, but works fine if you have an older version of Photoshop.

Crashes should be reported to the maker. There's a reason,such as bad video drivers and the like...

On 3 PC's - I'm unlucky with Akvis software or what, then again other software renders run for weeks without issues.

Yes I know, Pola DSR, it's the only filter I know that at least works.
