have noticed some blue-ish stuff inside my canon MP830 printer. never thought much of it but recently noticed that the blue-ish stuff is now on some of my ink carts. i wiped them off this AM using windex. came clean pretty easily, also wiped up where i could easily reach inside

any ideas what the blue-ish stuff is ?? also is it normal and how/if it can be minimized ?

thx

J

I've noticed that in my printer. I think there is a certain amount of ink that gets into the confined atmosphere of the interior of the printer as it functions. I don't know if it is primarily from doing borderless prints as there is a bit of overspray past the edge of the paper which is picked up on the sponge at the edge of each size of paper on which borderless prints are made. This may set up an aerosol of fine droplets that settles on the interior of the case. Mine has been more "greenish". As you mentioned, it is easily cleaned up with windex.
