PFI-1000 will work (I buy the CO, expensive but good), as ink from previous large format printers.
The ink set is different, but for most 3th party inks you need custom profiles too.

PS: PRO-10 GY is indeed rather dark, I tried to make it with large format PGY and PBK but needed more BK than GY.

I also use Octoink inks in my Pro10S - very happy with the results. The red is perhaps just a touch less vibrant than the OEM red - perhaps? - it's so close that it's hard to tell. I keep a red OEM cartridge on hand to drop in in the event that I'm dissatisfied with Octoink red but to be honest, I've not really found the need. I fill using the Octoink fill clip attached to a luer syringe - weigh the cartridge first to see how much it needs (1g ~= 1ml) then draw that amount of ink into the syringe and inject it back into the cartridge via the fill clip. Simple, clean and quick. Happy camper!

Since i cant do profiles now i'm trying to find a supply of OEM ink. So far it seems 29's ink is the nobrainer and luckily the pro1 i got was almost full. It appears that i didn't refilled the 72's GY yet and that i have a 29 DGY full. lucky me !

Good to know ! I'll have to make an order on octoink anyway at some point and the 50ml kit isn't that expensive and i don't have big needs (right now)

Try to find yourself a second hand ColorMunki - they're around and that's what I use. It's a bit fiddly to use but it works.

which model are you using ? i understood that cheap probes on second hand market were made with an organic piece that doesn't age well (i can't remember which brand did that) and that it was why they were cheap.

I think mine's a ColorMunki Studio - but as I understand it, most are the same device and only the software differed. If mine has deteriorated, then it hasn't shown up as a problem.

i don't think those were concerned. it was cheaper ones. Maybe Sypders ? Anyway it's kind of a mess as ColorMunki seems to became Calibrite or X-rite. Quite expensive stuff even on second hand market (one for 180€ nearby). i'll ask my company if we could buy one. We have LED walls and huge projectors that needs calibrations and that probe fits those needs :D

I use Linux so use ArgyllCMS instead of the X-Rite software. I'm pretty sure that this is available for MacOS and Windows as well.
