It only works for Canon IP1600, IP2200, IP6210D, IP6220D, MP150, MP170, MP450

Canon ip1600 instuctions


1. UnPlug printer power cord.
2. When holding power button plug power cord back in.
3. Keep holding button power and 2 times push RESUME.
4. Release all buttons.
5. Start ipTool program and click Clear Color or Clear Black.
6. UnPlug printer power cord. (DO NOT use Power button to turn off)



Ink level indicator should be reset now to 100 %.

what about ip4200? i saw on that site it kinda works for ip4300...isnt ip4200 and ip4300 similar?

Very interesting tool, Hopefully it works for the CLI-8/PGI-5BK cartridges as well. All the printers mentioned, are using the PGI-30/31 and PGI-40/41 cartridges (integrated printhead carts). Can someone read russian here ?

Yes thay are, I read it works for ip1700 but can't really test anything because I must have all these printers for this.
You can test the program if it can see your printer and then try if it works.

Try using Google's Language Tools. Copy and paste link, choose Russion to English BETA. Translation results are very good.

The site hints that more Canon models may be incorporated in the future.

I don't possess any newly chipped Canon printer, but can somebody test this program and whether it really works ? The most important are the CLI-8/PGI-5Bk based models like the Canon Pixma IP4200/4300/5300x/6600x/6700x series. If it works than this would be great news !!!
