having behaved well, my epson ex run out of paper. i switched everything off loaded paper and assumed it would work again. somehow it does not accept any more orders. i remember years ago, there was a trick, how to clear the memory of the printer and get it going again. it will print a nozzle check if i press paper and ink, but otherwise i can not get it to do something. HELP
i know it is an old printer, but there was nothing wrong with it and i did run out of paper before, but forgot what to do.

Unplug the power and press the power button for 10 seconds or longer to drain any energy stored in the capacitors. Power up your printer again.

I don't own any Epson printer. There may be some other way to reset your printer. But this will make sure what is stored in RAM will be gone.

Edit:
Have you check the printer cable (USB or parallel printer port)?
