My yellow ink doesn't print for my MP640. I hardly use the printer (I'm assuming this is the root cause - ink drying?)

Can someone advise what I need to do to clean?

I've done some googling and utubing. There's plenty of advice - that's the problem, there's tooo much advice

Youtube: I've seen 2 videos where they run under water and give the whole print head a good damn soaking!!
From past posts here, I was told I needed to be careful as the print head electronics/wiring/circuit board would get damaged??

In one of the videos, the guy says he puts in isopropanol - what's this? Where do I get from? Is it toxic? Is this essential?

eBay: lots of cleaning fluids for sale. Do I need these? Can I make my own at home??

I'm a little lost and not sure where to start!
Any advice would be great

Thanks

Here is a long thread with lots of ideas. There is no single solution that works for every printer in every case, so try some of the simpler approaches first, then progress up the difficulty scale if your problem persists.
