Hullo anyone,
I have a Canon Pixma Ink Jet printer model No. Ip 4500.
I am continually purchasing refills and the Printer continually informs me that the relevant Cartridge is empty.
Sometime ago, I recall reading instructions where we can adjust the printer to accept these refills. But I cannot find these instructions today.
I am therefore wondering if any one out there has any idea of what I am talking about. and if so could you point me in the right direction.
Thank You
Peter FREER

Hi Peter, you either have to disable ink monitoring on the printer or buy a chip resetter.

Here is a recent thread I participated in where a resetter was discussed. I ended up getting the "cheaper" blue resetter.

To disable monitoring, the printer should warn you that you installed a previously empty cartridge and to click YES which will stop detecting remaining ink levels. At which point you have to manually check it by removing the cartridge every once and while. For me, I prefer letting the printer monitor ink levels and use the resetter. I used mine for the first time today. Yeah!!

Oh, and welcome to the forum!
