Hi I have a 5460CN that I have had for a while(it's out of warranty now) and for some reason the blue is not printing correctly. Here's a picture of what the blue looks like after printed. Sometimes if I get the machine to clean itself it'll show some more blue squares but most of the time it'll print the same pattern.

Can anyone help me out?

Can anyone help or is it time to go get a new printer?

Since I am not familiar with Brother printers, I don't know if the technique I use on Canon printers will work for you but here is what I would recommend:

Open the cover to the printer.
Remove the cyan (blue) cartridge.
Put some Windex on the place where the cartridge feeds ink into the print head.
Put some Windex on the pad where the printer parks (probably off to the right).
Put the cyan cartridge back in the printer and close the cover.
From your computer, tell the printer to do a cleaning.
Do a nozzle check.
Repeat all of these steps until all the nozzles are printing or until you give up.
If you give up, let the printer sit overnight and try again the next day.

Please let us know how this works for you.
