I’ve been cleaning printheads with clogs for several years. There’s one thing I’ve learned emphatically that works evertime to release the clog; persistence.
Beyond that, always use warm distilled water, lay the wet flushed printhead on a solid white paper towel, if any ink is still coming...
I second that motion. These are some of the best papers I've ever used. I'm not a professional photographer, but I am a professional artist and a good reprint of my artwork is important. These papers do the trick. I order 50lb. premium matte, print two-sides, paper. It's just great.
Thanks Hat for your suggestion:
My spouse and I print some art "how to" books as well as another book that is a print on demand situation. We have two of these printers and need both of them to print correctly. Thanks for your black ink suggestion. I had wondered if I could use dye based ink...
Thanks turbguy:
I never use anything but OEM carts. I bought virgin carts off ebay, removed their plugs, cleaned them, and have had no issues with the carts. These carts have been great. I refill the standard way, not the German method.
I use ink from Octoinkjet which has been great as well...
Hi Wayne:
I've enclosed pictures that you requested to see my problem. As you can see in the first picture, when I print the entire nozzle check sheet it all prints fine except the portion of the pigment ink cartridge at the top of the sheet. I then printed that portion larger for you to see...
Thanking you in advance for your help.
I'm having a stubborn printhead problem and I'm stumped. The nozzle check printout prints the pigment black area incorrectly. Everything else prints fine.
The grid looking bars at the top of the nozzle check printout print with some missing grids near...
Thanks to ghwellsjr and mrelmo.
I did do a nozzle check and the PGBK did not pass the test. All other colors passed the test.
I will try the LA Fabulous Cleaner and report back. Also, I have not air flushed the PGBK nozzle on the printhead. I will try that as well. Are you using an air...
Text is showing signs of what seems to be a clog. With settings on "plain paper" and "fast print", text is very light and even lighter on about every 5th line.
However, with settings on "matte paper" and "standard" or "high" the text prints beautifully.
I have cleaned the printhead. I've...

I believe Mikling IS speaking of storage carts here, no?
"If your workflow includes a second set of cartridges then having the tape over the vent holes might actually be a bonus in that it can't hurt during storage."
I have not included tape over the vent hole on my storage carts and my...

I'm really enjoying my little orange clips that I recently purchased from your Ebay store.
And, I refill by the method you described and it works just great. Knock on wood, no over saturated sponges, no leaks, no cart problems and I wouldn't dream of using anything but OEM carts to...
Agreed. I would refill daily before giving any printer mfg. the satisfaction of getting that much money from me. I have way too many other ways to spend that money on more gainful and fun endeavors.
Thanks Stratman for your nice comment about my artwork.
Drawing for me was a bi-product of having to sit for about 24 years suffering the horrors of scoliosis and all that that implies. Drawing helped to bide my time and get my mind off that problem. But, with a change in diet, later a bit of...
Hi Irv
Thank you for that info and your kind remarks about my cat. Actually, that is a drawing I did that is on the cover of one of my drawing project books. I'm writing about 20 of these little booklets, and will need a good printing situation until I sell them in larger quantities. You have...

I would appreciate you telling us where you got the check valves and what size are they?
Are you getting your bottles and needles from Howard Electronics?

I had no issure with the top clearance because I use the "low profile" (flat) plugs from Octoinkjet. They are great. I have some of the lipped plugs but have had such good success with the low profiles that I just haven't tried them yet to check the clearance.
I also used about a 1"...

Well, phooey!!! I should have known I couldn't fool you into thinking I was actually trying to download a service manual.
Must be more careful in the future, huh?
