    Inkjet refill machines

The reason that I got into refilling ink cartridges was to save money. As a potential customer, could you please tell me why I'd choose to add the cost of a professional refiller AND shipping/handling. :)

    Canon's chipped cartridges refillable?

Has there been any success with refilling the Canon chipped carts? Is a chip resetter required, as with Epson chipped carts?

Ink usage on a Canon i9900

Another excellent post, Grandad, and a great reference for all i9900 owners, as well as everyone else. Have you ever noticed any problems running your printer until "it refuses to print anymore"?

Refilling Carts is a criminal patent infringement?

I would think that post 9/11, the government has bigger fish to fry. If I purchased a printer; If I purchased a Ford car... I refilled my ink cartridges with third party ink instead of OEM. I replaced my spark plugs with XYZ instead of Ford's Motorcraft. I don't think either industry would try...

Something to do with the cash I've saved...

Suburban Atlanta was hit with tornado damage, and some areas are still rebuilding after the flood damage of earlier hurricanes. But we've also received thousands of people from New Orleans, with many more on the way, and we're finding shelter, food and clothing for them. That's why the Red Cross...

Something to do with the cash I've saved...

Thanks to this website, I've managed to save a little of my printing expenses. Just wanted to thank you for the tips, reviews and sage advice. It's a real helping hand. I decided to extend a helping hand to others who are in desperate need. So I made a donation to the Red Cross hurricane relief...

Efficiency of 4 color vs. 6 color printers

Great work, Grandad. I'm wondering if anyone has ever asked the ink manufacturers about The Mix for PM and PC. I'm hoping that there's a big bottle of "Photo" somewhere that can be mixed with Cyan or Magenta. That would certainly make things simpler ;)

    The DELL sub-$100 laser printer

The Laser Printer world has been turned on its ear. I can imagine that HP and Lexmark are scrambling to meet the challenge, which means that the consumer wins. I've used the old HP Laserjet 4 and 4Plus's for 6 or 7 years. My org has received many over the years, but I usually sell them for...

Non OEM Inks - Why aren't they a "perfect match" to OEM? Can they be?

I think the problem is grounded in the nature of invention/discovery. Ink formulations are "mousetraps," and the goal in every research & development lab is to build a better mousetrap. Sure it would be nice to precisely match the OEM ink - and to sell it at a substancial savings. But 3rd party...

    Dell / Lexmark

The Dell printers are slightly different than the Lexmark models. The cartridges are, therefore, NOT cross compatible, to my knowledge.

    Inkjet paper surfaces

Great post, Grandad! Having already purchased a box of Classic Pearl for my i9900, I thought it only fair (and technically necessary) to purchase a box of Smooth Pearl for the iP5000. Well, at least that's the story I'm floating at home ;)

    Hobbicolors cartridges and inks

Just received a Hobbicolors Kit for my iP5000. I'll be working on a profile using Profile Prism, based on Ilford Clasic Pearl. The kit looks impressive. The virgin cartridges are very well made. A key factor will be the wear and tear of the nylon screw/fill hole, after repeated uses.

Office Quality IP3000 cartridge suggestions please.

I'd agree with Rob's assessment. As the head of a non-profit, I get much use from an HP Laserjet 4. I get a lot more mileage from the Laserjet's toner cartridge on the everyday stuff like memos, basic letters on pre-printed letterhead, etc. It has cut down monthly printer costs. I first created...

Thanks, Rob. Yeah, the image posting went well until that last one:)

PIXMA iP5000 printed my first Direct-to-DVD

I ordered my CD-R Tray and 100 blank DVDs at the same time, but I received the Tray first. So there I was, with my iP5000 ready with Tray and DVD printing software... but no blank DVDs. It was Saturday morning. The DVDs would not arrive until Monday. After a moment of pondering my fate, I found...

PIXMA iP5000 printed my first Direct-to-DVD

I think it was Clint Eastwood (in a Dirty Harry movie) who once stated, "A man's gotta know his limitations." With that in mind, I did not even attempt to fabricate a tray. I bought one from a seller on EBay. I'm an engineer, and I know enough about tolerances, exact measurements, and the nature...

PIXMA iP5000 printed my first Direct-to-DVD

WOW! It was worth everything that got me to this point. Many thanks to everyone involved for the instructions, the CD-R tray, the registry tips. It's been quite a journey, but it's also been a unique learning experience, not to mention the feeling of empowerment from going up against the big...

    Disposable Printers?

Bill Husted, who writes a Tech column in Atlanta's Sunday newspaper, mentioned that he had recently spent over $100 on ink cartridges. He then went into the benefits of Laser printers, and B&W printing. In closing, he made the following comments: "My final suggestion will sound like a joke. I...

    Canon ip 8500 CD printing

As one who benefitted from your work, I just want to say a big THANKS. I performed "The Procedure" on my brand new PIXMA iP5000 this weekend. It was a glowing success, thanks to the well laid out instructions and accompanying info. I ordered my CD tray on Friday, and it's on its way. This is a...

    Formulabs Ink Problem

At this point, I'd be interested in finding viable alternative ink manufacturers/distributors to Formulab/alotofthings.com... just in case.
