Well I can only apologize to my old printhead... the new one came and exactly the same problem.
I have also noticed a subsiduary problem in that the yellow ink is now contaminated with black. Out of interest what colour should the sponges of the purge unit be? Both mine were black and after...
Sorry guys, I have been on the road for a while (musician). Thanks for the help and pointers.
@Trigger 37
I totally agree with you about Canon "Support". I printed out the test pattern with just the magenta ink in the printhead not expecting it to print at all BUT it printed fine. I tried this...
I printed a sheet of black text using the 'Photo Paper Pro' setting and the text was printed in perfect black. Hmm, any recommendations on what printer I should get next. :/
Black text is fine (that uses the 3eBK). It's just photo's that have a green tint to them as demonstrated by the M & N. I have done a thorough and exhaustive clean of the print head so that I am pretty sure no blocks are in there. I am stumped as to what's causing it & don't want to buy a new...
Is there any update on locating this stuff in the U.K. Having a bit of difficulty myself finding the individual ingredients to unclog (I suspect) my i865 printhead which persists on printing green instead of black even ater a hot water cleaning. (The green is much brighter now though!)
Thanks, though I am not sure if that is correct. I tested each colour on it's own, the Cyan, Magenta, & Yellow with nozzle pattern and all of them printed their colour on squares M & N. I then tested them all together and I still get the Green. Logically I can not see why they work separately...
Thanks for that. Will try manually cleaning the print head. (Where is the purge unit? hmmm)
Normally M & N are black (along with the characters '6C' etc) so what is causing them to show up as green?
