    Smudging on some colours

On photo paper (semigloss satin/oyster) it looks perfect, so it might be a combination of few things: cheap paper (electrostatic problems? surface bouncing drops back?), driver settings (higher resolution - more problems) and ink phusical properties as well. I washed the cartridges recently, so...

Colour leak. Was: R2000 - how to purge gloss optimiser?

Printer was not used for last 48h - no signs or any colour cross contamination on the check pattern :) Case closed :)

    Smudging on some colours

Cheap paper, I'll test photo paper soon. Looks like higher resolution is causing more smudging. Maybe drop size makes a difference? With cheap paper and low resolution controlled by driver is looks much better. I need to clean the print head as well - I think the problem with blocked cartridge...

    Smudging on some colours

R2000 printer, 4 gaps in check pattern on cyan, 1 on magenta. I'm printing colour calibration sheet with 1440 dpi x 1404dpi and I see some smudging (see images). Left sponge cleaned 3 times in last day. What might be the reason? Fist image shows the same print with PK and MK.

Colour leak. Was: R2000 - how to purge gloss optimiser?

So far it's OK, no sucking in across colours. I observe a bit a smudging, but I'll start a separate thread as it doesn't seem to be related to cartridges.

Colour leak. Was: R2000 - how to purge gloss optimiser?

I kept getting gaps across a few colours, so I decided to to more cleaning. I did "power washing" of some cartridges and I found out that even the metal meshes on blue and magenta were partially blocked. Same colours I have gaps in the check pattern.. Now I'm down to yellow sucking in...

Colour leak. Was: R2000 - how to purge gloss optimiser?

I made full set swap to new cartridges and I got plenty of leaks + stains on paper. So I started to do gradual swap to the old set. In the meantime I cleaned the orange cartridge with tap water (almost DI in my area), pharmacist's solvent + ammonia and at the very end pharmacis't solvent...

Colour leak. Was: R2000 - how to purge gloss optimiser?

I have another set of cartridges, non-OEM but almost brand new. Yes, I observed black leaking down, so problem with vent on orange could suck the black ink up. Thank you very much again!

After automatic cleaning cycle and 3 A4 pages the orange colour seems to be stable. More info on Monday.

Colour leak. Was: R2000 - how to purge gloss optimiser?

Photo of the orange cartridge: I'm surprised: there is black tint in the out channel. I've never seen it before. Back pressure problem? I have external waste tank installed and it seems to work well. The printed pages were A4, 1440x1440 dpi The gaps are a long standing problem I'm working on (5...

Colour leak. Was: R2000 - how to purge gloss optimiser?

Is there a way of purging GO or I should swap the cartridge with i.e. blue and print blue pages? I'm trying to solve intermittent problem with photo black getting into orange. Cartridge order is like here: and I think GO might be involved as well - I saw pale dots on check pattern.

    Cleaning solution: the ultimate test

I enhanced the world famous pharmacist's solution with 1% ammonia. (4 cm3 of 25% ammonia solution + 96 cm3 of the rest) and for the first time in _weeks_ I made a progress. It's not a full success story yet, but cyan had 6 gaps and now I'm down to 4 after ~1h of solvent in the print head. Edit...

    Cleaning solution: the ultimate test

I just found 100 ml bottle for ~1 euro (Polish site): https://allegro.pl/oferta/woda-amoniakalna-25-amoniak-r-r-25-100ml-8728178733 25% from a chemical company, so no guessing :-)

    Cleaning solution: the ultimate test

Perfect, thank you! @PeterBJ, concentrated ammonia is ~25-35%? I'll buy the household version which is 5-10%, so I want to adjust the "recipe".
