I bought a couple Canon MP830's and I want to test them out as they were refurbished. I thought they would be problem free, but the first one was broken and had to take it to a canon service center. What would be the ideal way of testing and then storing the printer?

I wanted to keep the OEM just in case. The hobbicolors seem to be easier to refill and I already have the kit. Do you guys still recommend me completely using the OEM?

I need a method to store the oem canon cartridges, I now want to switch to the hobbicolors ink, but have some oem cartridges. I do not want them to dry out, what method should I use to store the cartridges?
