I've been working on DIY Silk Screens to add art & text to my pottery. As noted in the topic, I'm hoping to gain a better understanding of the best approach for printing the transparent positives with the darkest result.
Current Setup:
Photoshop 23.4.1 (subscription) to create my halftones; both...
You don't mention your budget, so it's a bit hard to sort out what might be appropriate.
I'm not too familiar with All-in-one (color capable?) laser printers, but tend to be of the opinion that printers, like people, tend to drop in output quality the more functions they claim to possess. I...
I had read advice against supports, but tried them once, and only once! They were impossible to remove without damage. Given that it was a test print, I was fine with tossing it in the trash.
I've run the flex TPU. Had to lower the bed temp (don't remember the temp and am on the road at the moment). Only other challenge has been stringing. Changing extrusion temp and retraction helped, but surfaces when printing at even 0.1 are far from smooth. I've been working with the flex to...
My "new" Prusa I3 came with the PEI platen as a stock item; it's printed flawlessly for the last 18 months with minimal maintenance. Only minor challenge, PET sticks TOO well, though that can be addressed with platen temp, for the most part. I love "popping" prints off the surface. So far I've...
I have far too many other apps, both graphics and developer oriented, I depend on to risk a Win 11 "upgrade." I'll wait to see how many of the apps I use break for others before venturing beyond the bleeding edge...
"I have doubts they will ever come close to being as cost effective as Inkjet. "
You may want to take a look at this link on Tom's: Inkjet vs laser lifetime cost.
Though I doubt the documented costs include electricity.
Meri,
So sorry to hear about your loss! Also sorry for the delayed acknowledgement. It's been a bit on the busy side with being displaced, moving to a new state (Colorado - uhm, more fires here too!) and trying to buy a new home. (Just placed an offer yesterday; fingers crossed!!!)
Thank you for...
So, as noted in a previous thread (Lost it all, starting over - Recommendations?) - I'm looking to replace one of the three displays I had. Where I'm currently staying there's no room for 3 displays, so one will have to suffice. Based on current research, it looks like a Dell UP2720Q 4K would...
Leeches are still in vogue in many areas!:ep
Aside from the incredible beauty of the Rockies in the Boulder region, one of the primary motivations was that Colorado has the Kaiser HMO available. I've been a member/patient since I was 11. Also worked as a nurse in the ICU at Kaiser San Francisco...
Well, considering I'm borderline polycythemic and already have an abnormally high red count, not a good outcome; increased risk of stroke with too many red cells! However, when I through-hiked the John Muir Trail in 2000, the excess red cells did help at altitude. :)
Thanks for the kind thoughts and words. We've chosen to move out of California. We had made the decision a year ago, so the dislocation is not an issue; we're in Salt Lake City at the moment and will re-settle in the Greater Boulder, Colorado region. The main regret, among others that randomly...
I actually joined some time back, but have mostly lurked and rarely posted.
So... I just lost all of my equipent, along with the house, in the Glass Fire in Napa, CA. I was able to evacuate with my workstation and about 40TB of data. However, monitors, printers, etc., are either slag or ashes...
I've had a long-standing love/hate relationship with Fusion 360, and have only developed a modest level of incompetence due to Autodesk's binding of Eagle CAD with Fusion 360. (Weird aside: I'm currently evacuated from my home in N. Cal due to wildfires and am staying in a hotel next to...
FWIW, end and start codes, regardless of manufacturer, are G-Codes, which is the standard means of "talking" to a 3D printer, and originally for CNC machines. They are a standardized set of instructions.
Edit: When you run slicer and export, the resulting file is all g-code. If you want, it's...
Re: Possible under extrusion - if you've recently loaded a new reel of filament, you may want to recheck/calibrate your extrusion rate. Filaments can vary in actual diameter and result in inconsistent or under extrusion.
I have a Pro100 and after seeing OP question and Artur5's comment, took a look in the print maintenance tab. There is an option to auto-power on and off, but when attempting to enable the auto-off there was a warning that a "network connected" printer won't auto-off. I am assuming that they...
