Wow guys, thanks for all the great comments and support!!!
Good reminder about speed/sound. That said, my issue is the SUPER loud CLICK CLACK the printer does a bunch of times while it's prepping for a print. The AMS respooling is also pretty loud. The actual printing noise level is quite...
It arrived a day early!!!
It's super HUGE and it's fantastic!
Dislikes:
It really is super big. It takes up a lot of space.
The startup process on every print, even tiny ones, takes a lot longer than I think it should. That's even if I have already calibrated everything and have calibrations...
LOL. I SUPER appreciate your thoughts and help... I definitely need it!
That's a great perspective, and basically how I was looking at it. My local BestBuy is right down the street, so it's good to know if I have a big problem (with the main board, main parts, etc. that are much harder to...
It's in stock and I can get it in two days!
I don't usually buy extended warranties, but 4 years for $150... even if it's a false sense of security, karma is worth it to me.
I'm so nervous to pull the trigger, especially because the P2S with the combo is about half as much.
Ugh, not yet. See below:
Dual nozzle seems tempting, but I don't know if I'd use it much. Ya, size is really my main reason I'm considering the H2S vs P2S... but also one of the two main reasons I've held off:
1) I want to wait until BestBuy has the H2S back in stock so I can buy locally, and...
It's amazing what people are inventing!
This guy does a new invention every day (which goes along perfectly with the theme of this thread), and some are lame and some are pretty cool. This one is pretty cool.
SUPER interesting!
I think we've all seen the 3D printed buildings on Earth, but this is pretty cool to think about using materials on the Moon and printing structures on the Moon.
I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to moisture in my PETG and especially my TPU.
I put the PETG into a very good Ziploc bag with desiccant and remove all the air RIGHT after the print is done.
I do similar with my TPU, but also put it the vac ziploc bag (no air / desiccant) into the original...
It's been a while since we've had this discussion. And I don't think we've had any long threads about this.
What are y'all using as filament dryers, storage, desiccant, etc. these days?
For me:
Dryer: Rarely need one, but when I do, a food dehydrator.
Storage:
Vac-bags with ziploc type...
That's fantastic!
I've printed a handful of different battery holders and connectors. Some using stripped wire wrapped around a terminal as the connecting point and just pressure holding the battery in place, and other ones with 3D printed springs pushing the contacts into the batteries...
Not bad. Ironically I just watched this great review of it earlier today:
Ya, I've wondered about that with the H2D to mix very different types of filaments.
Yup, frustrating. I do wish I could easily use Orca Slicer from my PC, etc.
Hmm... even with the advanced carbon filters, etc? :(...
Ok friends,I've been around and around and around about this forever!
I'm usually (at a fault) frugal <cheap> and have a hard time buying the "nice" things. I almost always go for the thing that provides 80% of the value at 50% of the price.
For example, I spend a TON of time looking at the...
It's so fun to see people tinker with stuff like that. In a lot of ways, stuff like this might seem pointless to a lot of people, but they don't realize that this kind of experimentation pushes the envelope and innovation.
