What kind of blinking do you have ... orange only or alternating between orange and green ?.
The first case (orange only) means operator error and can be fixed by the user.
On the second case it's service error and most of the times requires replacing a damaged component.
This has nothing to do with alignment issues. It’s partially clogged nozzles on the second stripes of cyan and magenta. These two channels have a smaller droplet size than the others, hence they’re more prone to clog if the machine hasn’t been used for some time, because ink may have dried...
That's a mighty and majestic statue. Your Buddha looks now a little thing, in comparison. :)
I've been trying to make one of these Moais for sometime, but other things came in the way. Maybe next month...
Those autoreset chips don't last forever. At some point, they start to fail and the ink level doesn't resets to full anymore, but to a lower level. Eventually, the chip dies and you see on screen a question mark and a message saying that ink level on one or more cartridges cannot be measured (...
Unless the info of your avatar isn't correct, you have a Canon 9000 MKii.
The Hat is right, there're no more new carts for this printer, not that Canon gone bankrupt but because they discontinued this model of printhead a few years ago.
You'll find plenty of "refurbished" Pro-9000mkii printheads...
We all change with age. Unfortunately nobody manufactures a calibration device able to restore our younger days. I bet that my current 'gamut' is much narrower than thirty tears ago.. :he
You’re right. I forgot that PFI carts didn’t start using pigment Lucia pigment inks until the PFI-105 series. PFI102-104 are dye, except for the MBK.
Thanks for the reminder.
PFI inks are pigmented. You shouldn't use those inks on CLI carts which use dye inks !. No wonder you have problems.
I advice to remove all the pigmented inks inside the CLI carts and flush them thoroughly. Consider yourself lucky if you can restore afterwards the nozzles of your printer to...
This seems to be an unexplored territory. AFAIK none of the regulars here owns these printers, so you'd have to be a pioneer and endure the foreseable mistakes...
Have you searched on Youtube ?
As for a service manual, PeterBJ is the expert, but I suspect that the only place to look...
Yes, purchasing a new printhead is not a guarantee that the printer will come to life again, but there's a possibility that it could.
Anyway, first thing would be to unlock the current printhead. For that, you need to remove the top cover of the printer, following the tutorial below,. It's for...
Cost wise, if you print 8-12 A2 sheets a week, probably isn't worth to purchase an A2 printer.
Consider for instance the Canon Pro-1000. Possibly the most affordable A2 printer. It costs 1200-1300€ or the equivalent in UKP. Add the inks. Decent quality aftermarket inks aren't cheap and be aware...
My wild guess is that the printer detects abnormal temperatures in the printhead and triggers a B200 error as a warning. Even if it prints perfectly for the time being, the raising temperature may be a sign that the printhead is reaching the end of the lifespan.
In most cases, when B200 appears...
If you got error B200 and/or 5400 when operating the Pro-100 in normal mode, the software tool won't work properly, even if it's a genuine version. You must clear the errors first.
Error 5400 is related to temperature problems, maybe the printhead, maybe the logic board. B200 means, in the vast...
"They" mean older software tool versions, fake or genuine. The printer will refuse to enter service mode after you try to use the wrong version. I don't know if the issue happens always in all the Canon models or only in some of them. It happened to me and it's been repported by many users...
If you downloaded the software tool for free somewhere, there're high chances that it's a fake. I know it by experience . You need to purchase it from a vendor on Ebay. It costs up to 10 euro/$.
Also, take into account that the Pro-100 requires a version of this service tool that was...
Better safe than sorry... :D.
3D "·experts" say that if you want strong prints you should increase the number of vertical perimeters instead of the infill. I suppose that's true up to a point.
I'm tempted to print one of these moais, but 40 cm is too tall for my printer. Either I must settle for...
@The Hat, your printer(s) did a very good job, but your painting skills are top notch as well. :)
I downloaded a very similar model in order to make a test. On my slicer, for a 40 cm high model, it needs as much as 30% infill and 3 vertical perimeters to reach 3.5kg of filament. I tend to use...
Don't waste more time or money. Canon discontinued the printhead for the i9950 long ago, so genuine new printheads are unavailable. Everything offered on Amazon/eBay/Ali Express are refurbished units pulled from discarded printers. The vast majority of those printheads are defective, as the one...
