Osage, yes, as Ive said, Ive been working on a possible source so hopefully that will come good, though we'll never be the printing mecca that big countries will because we are simply geographically so far away and often this is a problem right across the board. Not just with printing supplies...
d86cfv, I didnt see your post B4 I posted so Heh, youve pipped me at the post again !!!

Thanks digitalartist71 for your explanation which has furthered my understanding. How interesting!!! I wondered how you could get black out of CMY.
Arnt there some very low end printers that dont even have a true black, and they just use a composite of CM&Y?

Dan, yes Ive checked out this site, and getting someone to refill for me, wasnt something I wanted to consider for example, on their website it says...
"It is as easy as dropping your empty cartridges into a store near you"
My nearest store is 2 hours drive away. Not very good economics when...
Manuchau, I couldnt find anything, but thanks for the link anyway. I also tried again on Canons site and using other search engines but havnt found anything yet.

d86cfv, you just pipped me at the post (pun intended)
FWIW, One thing I noticed in my case, with the canon ink compared to the 3rd party ink was the text had a slight blueish greyish tinge. It definitely wasnt as black as Canons.

Thanks Osage for your comments.
Believe it or not, from time to time, Ive actually spent hours on this forum and it has been wonderful, with so much knowledge that has been shared. When all is said and done, there are still many variables to this printing thing. One of those, and of which Ive...
Hi,
Can some one explain to me why the vertical squares or more correctly, oblongs are all in various shades of black. Which ink tank actually prints these.?
Thanks

d86cfv, thanks again for your input.
mmm, as I thought.
As the person Im dealing with has been very good in that he has disclosed the brand of the manafacturer, given me these compats to try in exchange for what my thoughts are on the product, plus guarunteed that if I have any damage he'll...
hpnetserver,
Thanks for your comments. I didnt refill these, they were prefilled carts. I'm still in the throws of trying to source a supply for refill inks. In the meantime I think I'll stick with OEM.

Thanks Dan, that is the type of reply I was looking for.
As it so happens 2 days ago I put in a new 3rd party set of Y,M, & C carts, and then yesterday I put in the 2 Blacks. I didnt print out any photos between the 2 lots of replacements. I did a big run on text printing (122pgs, {thats BIG...
Hi,
I was tossing up whether to put this question in the general section or here, because it applies to both 3rd party carts as well as OEMs, though I think it leans more to this subforum.
Is it normally just a case of popping them in and away they go with no need of intervention, or can you...
Hi,
Ive looked for this on Canons Website and cant seem to find it. I managed to find Niftys reference to this image as well as a few others after a google search, but they are all really small, so small that if you try and resize it, it is extremely blurry.
Maybe we are not supposed to print...
Hey all,
Just interested to know if anyone actually knows how the 5% coverage is equated with so many characters per page, for example, these are the figures (pasted from a canon pamphlet, below) for the ip4000. In my natural way of thinking Im just wondering if they somehow have a way to count...
They look sus to me. If you have a look at the five of them, theyre all the same size. The BCI-3eBK should be a lot fatter than the BCI-6's. It takes 30mls the others take around 15mls.

Thanks drc023,
Yes I've had a look on their website too. We seem to be inundated in NZ with stuff from Asia, though Ive found a site that says they have formulabs ink which Im checking out at present because their info seems a bit skew-iff.
Anyway I think I'll try and stay with what's been...
OK guys, anyone got any ideas on the Fullmark brand of ink. I did a search on this board and came up with just one hit, about this time last year by BlasterQ. Anyone used it of late and got recommendations for or against?
Thanks
