    Possibly a silly question...

@ smile: what do you mean when you say I only have a pigment black, so i dont want to mix water-soluble dye ink in there, lest i lose the pigment ink's waterfast-ness. @ nche11: yeah, im also tilting towards b), but im not too sure on the way i should be implementing it

    Possibly a silly question...

Hi When i first got my printer, and before i obtained any canon empties, i started to use the cartridges that came with my printer. However, now that i have obtained some empties, and refilled them, i dont know what to do with my half used carts (with OEM ink). At the moment, i have put them in...

Printer putting too much ink on page?

Well, when I was using OEM inks, i don't remember this happening, however, i may be wrong, as i probably wasnt looking for it. But i do suspect that it is the ink. Unfortunately, i have a lot of my current paper (several 500 sheet reams). Can any one recommend a better pigment ink that is easy...

Printer putting too much ink on page?

Ok, so when i use presentation paper, i do i change the paper type? Or do i continue to use plain paper? Also, if i print a page with text and graphics on it, is there any way to print the text in pigment black, and the image in colour inks? My printer doesnt have a photo black cartridge, so all...

Printer putting too much ink on page?

ok, i tried my other cartridge, and i still had the problem. I also tried reducing the intensity, and, although the image was lighter, it still bled. For the record, my first pigment black cart was just over half empty, so i dont think it was flooded.

Printer putting too much ink on page?

pharmacist: I don't use the Durchstich as yet, and i have filled the cartridges by the 'normal' method after i flushed them out, but i do intend to use the method when thay run dry. I have also been using these carts for a few weeks, so i thought if it was flooded, it would have fixed it;;self...

Printer putting too much ink on page?

Recently, i started to use hobbicolors ink (UW8 inks and pigment black) in my printer (a canon ip3500), and, for most intents and purposes, i experience great quality printing. However, when i print images, the black ink always bleeds into the other colours, creating blurry text. This happens...

Printer profiles for Canon IP3500 with UW8 ink

Thanks, i didn't realise that papers were also taken into consideration. I currently use UW8 inks without a profile, and the image is still good, its just that i thought a profile for plain paper would be better than no profile, even though plain paper differs between manufacturers. I just...

Printer profiles for Canon IP3500 with UW8 ink

Hi Does anyone have a ICC profile for a canon ip3500 with hobbicolors UW8 ink? I've read on this site that using a properly calibrated profile can give you wider gamut prints, and i was hoping someone would already have one for my printer. Thanks in advance

    HP Cartridge Air in Chambers?

You demagnetised the solution? :/ How is that possible? I'm quite sure that ink doesn't contain any ferromagnetic components... Would you mind explaining what exactly you did, and what effects it had? You've made me (and the rest of the forum i'm sure) quite curious...

    HP Cartridge Air in Chambers?

OP: well, im not too familiar with the either cartridge or your setup, but i think it could be two things: 1- There is a lot of air in the cartridge, and it is this air that is comming out even though the cartridge is submerged. The fix would be to keep using the machine/vacuum device until...

help with refill needles, sizes and ordering

Hobbicolors does not ship sharp needles. I asked about it when ordering, and they said they ship 21 gauge blunt needles. I don't know about precisioncolors. On another note, does any one know a way for me to get 50mm-ish sharp needles in Australia? I had a look on the alotofthings.com website...

To purge, or not to purge? Help required...

Ok, thanks! I'll keep the forum informed of how my purging goes. Also, to seal the hole, is there any special type of glue i should use? I have some cheap hot glue, but will that work?

To purge, or not to purge? Help required...

Ah, thanks fotofreek for your quick response! I actually tried purging a PGI-5BK cartridge last night, but the sponge didn't become white like the other images i have seen. Its still in the process of drying completely, however the sponge has turned a dark grey colour, even though the water i...
