OEM carts mean carts made by Canon and yes these carts are all over the internet and in plenty of stores.
If you mean non-Canon carts the microlock is stopping them from getting to market.
I'm pretty sure these types sell to less tech minded people.
I wonder what has taken so long for a chip resetter to hit the market for the Canon's. Be nice to refill the tanks and use a chip reseter to set it back to zero.
I read the review and it's OK but the Author leaves out the fact that Canon has the IP6600 which has:
1. LCD screen
2. Card Slots
3. 3000 nozzles
4. photo magenta and photo cyan
5. cd dvd printing
6. 1 picoliter droplet

The IP5200 is on sale at CompUSA for $129: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=333953&pfp=srch1
Makes it the best bang for your buck printer !!!
There is plenty of image editing software out there but what software is the best for actually laying the pictures out and printing them ?
I have Easy-Photoprint installed and it's OK but I would like something with more options for how photos get printed on the page.
Holy crap I hate to see your house grandad !!!
Unlike grandad I have yet to spill ink, thank god
Anyways 125 sheets for $20.65, I put 4 pictures per sheet works out to 0.0413 per 4.25 x 5.5 { I hate wasting paper }
Plus the ink cost which is $30 for 16 oz.
Works out to 6 or 7 cents per...
Anybody try using the bulk ink for bci-6 in the cli-8 carts ?
Can't imagine it would cause any damage, might need to adjust the settings.
Basic reasoning here is that:
A: Some people have a lot of bci-6 bulk ink left
B: bci-6 bulk ink can be bought from the better online stores, only...
A user on steve's forum used bci-6e bulk ink in his 4200 and it was slighty different looking but nothing to dramatic. The cli-8 carts can also fit the IP4000.
The only bad thing about the 4200 is the evel chip which turns off the measuring tool.
Laser printers are great at quality but are pretty costly. A color laser will run $400 here in the states and probably a lot in the UK. Most Laser printers come with startup carts which are usually only good for 1000 pages though. Then the toner is a lot as well. Some toner carts run between...
That sucks, one of the main reasons to buy Canon was because they didn't do the chip nonsense. Now were going to need chip resetters if want to use third party ink.
