My son has just had a ip3600 delivered to his workplace. (the boss had some discount arrangement with his office supplier) .....He has similar printers to me at home , he is well used to the Auto duplex on the mp610 and the 4200.
He has just said that he is very disappointed, there is no auto...
Ok fish , the link was primarily aimed at the original poster , (and anyone else who was unaware of it ) , but I am glad you have indicated that taking off the back cover , (provided done carefully) may not always need a reworking involving drills /knives/self tapping screws etc.
My cover is...
Absolutely correct, sorry , I dont visit as often as I used to and already had half decided that the 521`s appeared to be beyond refilling/resetting, wasn`t sure if things had moved on or not.
This thread also answered my questions regarding the 3600 and helpful guidance towards the 3500 , but...
Can someone bring me up to speed on the latest postion regarding these carts ?
Can they be easily refilled?
Can the chips be re-set , if so with what re-setter ? , and from where ?
IP3600
In the absence of a chip re-set , is there still a chance to re-fill and forego the Ink Monitor (and...
Absolutely correct. I have written off 1x4200 and 1x5200 exactly this way, (they were both new out of the boxes).......soon as the head from the "old and failed for no apparent reason machine" was put in they failed in exactly the same way. When a machine fails now (and reason is not obvious)...
All I would add to the above helpful advice and information is this:-
About 6 months ago I had the MP600 repaired under warranty for a malfunction in the paper feed path. The repair was carried out at my home by an engineer subcontracted by Canon. The physical fault was found quite quickly but...
Hobbicolors are saying this is the most simple method , with a few easy steps and the minimum of equipment , they are aiming at the widest audience, who want such a method, without any extra fuss, and which is successful from the start.
Other methods such as the German method need a slightly...
I never experienced drip from this type of cart regardless of how full i had filled it. I believe the foam , (in this type of cart ) ,is there to take up space , prevent aeration/foaming due to sloshing about and to keep the ink volume " regulated" in its supply to the firing nozzles.
I...
Hi RSole and Smile:
regarding the MP 150 I disposed of the 1st machine about a year ago (I had used it so much and reset the "ink tank full "so often that it did pose an ink threat spillage ...and i mothballed its replacement about 6 months ago. (I had to get use out of my use my 4x 4200`s ...
I have been also been buying Canon Empty Carts from e-bay , (and monitoring prices) , I have been working on a cost that I am willing to pay (including the postage) of 70-80p per cart , recently some sellers have failed to attract bids because (carts/postage) starting prices were way above this...
Yes , the blue non-adhesive tape that came with the cart/printhead is the safest. Unfortunately when first applied it was statically charged to grip to the face of the nozzle face, this static wears off when removed .
I re-apply it in place by cutting a 2 cm square from a cd/dvd clear thin...
Please advise on the likely original Canon models they are based around, do you think there will be any advantage of interchangeability cart or printheadwise , in use in existing Canon machines ?...........because if there is, they are bound to be less expensive......?????
(carries on...
In my opinion the true test of whether the prism is properly working and contributing to ink level warnings , would be if all the ink was removed (by syringe) , from a full reservoir (CLI8) , and the machine immediately , (or almost immediately) , flags up that the cart is empty or nearly...
http://www.fixya.com/support/t126701-error_code
dont know if this helps....................an engineer that repaired my 600 recently (feed path roller blockage ) , was discussing common errors on the Canon said some had had the wrong grease applied to the lift mechanism.............which sounds...
If I was in your position (and did not have a resetter)(and was not worried about the warranty) , I would put the new unopened carts in storage and install the refill carts. The machine should , ( I think) identify the carts as expired and offer you the choice of installing new carts or...
Are you saying the machine is making all the right movements and noises but no ink is appearing through the print head?
Why did you change the waste ink pads?........Did you have a waste tank full warning light sequence?
Hi Melkin1 ,
I am sorry your advice to me is a bit of a mystery , (I also note you have a similar ID to melkin the Inkjet Master , any relation?). can you please direct me to the date in this thread where I queried a problem with a Canon mp210 cart. ?
regards
headphonesman
If they really wanted to make a new selling point they could make the carts bigger pointing out they had also reduced the cost as well , that would attract both new and old users (and refillers).
