Oh, and something I noticed: I don't think I needed to buy the upgraded "metal teeth" bowden pneumatic couplings. It looks like Creality took the feedback and started including couplings that have metal teeth and good grab. They also included the little bowden clips that a lot of people are...
WOOOHOOO!!!!
All put together and working GREAT (so far)!
My very first print, a 30% Benchy:
I think it took me about 1.5 hours to put it together since I was replacing springs, couplers, bowden tube, etc., and being VERY slow and deliberate following all the instructions in the videos...
Valid points (and suggestions)!
I hate to admit it, but I just don't print color photos enough to keep the inkjet from clogging up. So one option I'm looking at is keeping the (or a different) color laser printer, and the very rare times I actually need printed quality photos: I'll just ride my...
Ya, I feel ya on that! Fortunately the one I let go was never considered family since it was always in the box. More like a passing-through visitor. LOL!
...BUT... it will be interesting to see how I feel about my CR-10. If the Ender-3 V2 fulfills everything I need it to do, and does it better...
Update: I sold my original Ender 3. I listed it on craigslist, FB Marketplace, Offerup... same price, pics, info. I got 5 people interested from FB and ZERO from the other two!
... then purchased an Ender 3 V2... which has been sitting in the box for about 3 weeks :(
Now that the GF and I are...
Ya, I think I'd need to go with a kit to ensure I didn't end up with a bunch of expensive parts and no real support or knowledge on why things didn't play nice together.
Ah, that's very interesting and helpful!
I was excited to see a video (I love videos for this stuff)... until I noticed it...
My kids are VERY hard to find presents for. So this year for Christmas I took my kids out on a "thrifting" (something they really like doing) shopping spree to some huge thrift-stores by my girlfriend's house.
Well, as they were shopping, I strolled around the store a bit. Within minutes, I...
Glad you weren't disappointed :)
Ya, there are a TON of positive Voron discussions, videos, etc. all over the place. In fact, it seems Youtube really wants me to go down that path since it's been recommending Voron videos to me left-and-right. LOL!
Sadly, the Voron is a bit out of my skill and...
The original instructions often don't have and/or leave out a lot of the stuff that doesn't tend to work and/or things that the community has learned through trial-and-error is "better" than what was originally put in the build instructions.
For example, TONS of people have found that the...
Now that the dust has settled from holidays, I'm thinking I'll cobble together the Ender-3 V2 this week. It's the most "kit" printer I've put together, so I'm a tiny nervous... and just hoping all the bits fit / work from the factory.
I'm going to follow most of the stuff in this video:
...
Too funny!
I fully support peeps getting together to create a printable calendar. No need to worry about toes-stepped-on, etc.
We're able to do/sell professional ones on BYC since the volume justifies the costs/time. We need to buy / sell at least 500 to make it work. That might be tricky to...
Update:
Packing up the printer back into the box with all the padding, packaging, foam, etc. was NOT an easy task. Fortunately, I think I got most things in *about* the same spots as before... and the box closed, so that's good! ;)
Returned via Amazon through UPS without any issues.
I woke up...
I've been *mostly* content doing all prints via USB that are under an hour, then anything over, doing via SD card.
Unfortunately the USB connection has been sketchy and when connected to USB the intro flash-screen on my printer just keeps refreshing. Sometimes it will refresh 3 times, then look...
... now to add to my infinite options:
I just read about new mainboards / motherboards for upgrading 3D printers and see that some come with Wifi, octoprint support, etc. already built-in.
So, instead of adding Octoprint to my old CR-10, I could go down a rabbit hole of trying to upgrade the...
Well, it's an Octoprint Octopi Journey that might end with me deciding not to take the journey. LOL!
So, I don't know much about it. I don't even know the difference between Octoprint and Octopi.
I've NEVER done anything with a Raspberry Pi before, and it feels a little daunting.
I also have...
Yup! That's the new plan. :)
Hopefully this is just a laugh since we don't (shouldn't) have any rules or issues with off-topic discussions. The only time I've ever even considered "policing" it is if the original poster had a very on-topic discussion and the whole thread went off-topic and the...
Creality offered to send me a new motherboard and a free spool of filament for my trouble. Nice of them to give good support and offer to make-good but:
It's going to take 2 weeks to get the goods
No guarantee it will even fix the problem
What happens if I keep doing all this back/forth and it...
Ender-3 S1 : https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/time-for-a-3d-printer-upgrade-keep-upgrade-something-else.15146/post-132404
Well, I was surprised to get VERY fast and pretty helpful advice and troubleshooting tips from Creality!
They walked me through a bunch of steps including pulling...
Good news: Printer arrived SUPER fast to my house... I think in just one day. Thanks Amazon! It was packaged well and everything went together pretty easily following videos online.
Bad news: Printer turns on, but the screen is dead :( Not sure if the screen is broken or something else further...
Brilliantly stated, thank you @stratman !
Yes, this thread is for all types of printing... it just so happens that with my kids being older there isn't much need for me to color-print as much... and my big hobby has been 3D printing... so I can definitely understand the confusion.
... but it's...
