External Ink Waste Container Increases Clogging?

Hello, It seems the external waste ink container increases clogging.
I can confirm this.

I have two identical printers, one with external waste container the other without.
The one without waste container is not used that much, but never had a problem with it.
The one with waste container has 2 heads clogged, they are usable but shows stripes.

Tried to clean it but to no avail, as you know I have not finisded my ink head cleaning project so do not know if it is possible to clean them or not. But for sure the eternal waste ink container reduced the pumps ability to clean the print head it seems.

Would like to hear your ideas.

P.S. My waste ink container is a ridgid box with air filter fitted so no pressure build up inside it.

I found no difference whether a waste tank was fitted to my Canon printers or not,
I had no clogging problems to begin with before I fitted the waste ink tanks
and none afterwards so I got a natural effect while using them.

I did leave my 9500 unused as a test for 4 weeks just to see if the waste tubing
would clog or become inoperative in any way, it made no difference
whatsoever to the printer and it continued to work as normal.

A waste ink tank can’t prevent clogs from occurring, but the main cause of clogs
can be put down to the lack of use of a printer and/or poor quality inks,
purge pump failure or extreme weather conditions. (Hot/cold)

95% of all visual clogs are not in fact in the print head area at all
but can be put down to the cartridges failure to deliver the right amount of ink
that the heads required (Ink starvation).

Hmm, I use only quality inks, Inktec inks. Now I will convert to use OCP. And get new print head.

Where can I find a waste ink tank for my Pixma Pro 100? And the software to reset the internal counter which, at least on Epsons, will shut down the printer when the waste pads are full. I used a reset routine and waste tank on my old Epson R 1800, worked fine. I haven't seen any such available for Canon.

If Pro100 is like Pro9500 then you need canon service utility to put the printer into service mode then you need to get service manual and press button on printer the specified number of times to reset the counter.

So you need 2 things, service manual, service printer utility.

I have 13 Epson printers ALL with various external waste ink bottles including the Famous Printer Potty and NONE clog any more or less than when they did not have external waste systems installed.

It’s a bit early to be thinking of resetting your waste ink counter but it’s never too early
to fit an external waste ink tank, well I reckon anyway.

You might try Precisioncolor for one and if no luck there then go to OctoInkjet,
that’s where I got 3 of them for my Canon A3 printers.

It’s a bit unclear as to which Service tool you’ll need for your new printer,
I used V.1074.exe on my 9500 or you may have to use V.3.32.exe both will run on Win XP.

Before you can run this service tool you’ll need to put your printer into service mode first,
this is achieved by pressing the two buttons on the front of your printer. (Many Times)

Well, here is how my waste ink container looks like. I would probably use a container that has better secured lid. Other than that works as a waste container.

Springs on the hose is to relieve any strain. I even had tried reusing the ink since it is DYE ink, I reused in my text only pigment based PGI-40 cart without problems (had to print many text flyers, so done it free ).

Your waste ink container looks really good nice job in fact right on, but hang on a moment,
reusing the waste ink sludge ? Ouch…

I taught that OCP inks are suppose to be 80% cheaper than OEM inks,
so how cheap can cheap be.. ?
