Hi, when I do a nozzle check the Cyan looks light and has smears. It also looks like it travels to the other colors. I have done multiple cleanings as well. Has anyone one else seen this before?

Well the first thing is to check the physical ink level not chip on the screen in the cartridge/s. Refill fill to full if necessary. Then perform a head clean.
BTW, the ink you have inside the PC channel is Cyan and not PhotoCyan. You refilled the incorrect ink into the PC cartridge.

Are you sure about incorrect refilling in the PC channel ?.
My nozzle checks are like this one (except for the cyan problem). Photo Cyan looks as dense as Cyan and it’s been like this since I own the Pro10S. No wrong ink for sure.
Likewise, you can’t tell apart Gray, MBK and PBK. Instead, Magenta does indeed looks darker than Photomagenta.

I reckon it’s time for a new print head, both the cyan and the CO are not functioning, and I don’t know if the light is playing tricks or not because the two magentas look the same colour too, but if that’s the case then a refilled cyan cart just might work.. But I dough it..

You need to look at your whole refilling procedure again, because things may be getting away from you and causing the early demise of the print head..

I've been busy the last couple of days and just getting back to this. I will have to take a look at the carts but I take my time and weigh them carefully. The problem I think I have is we don't print a lot anymore and the printer sits. I have other carts and will try and fill a different Cyan and Photo Cyan.

Hello @Artur5 ,

I suppose the banding in the CO nozzle pattern is normal or a scanning artifact.

There is a PRO-10 on sale with this nozzle check:

(hope I can get it for a fair price)

That's a risky investment looks to be an electrical fault that may or may not get worse with time

The nozzle test that you posted looks good to me, no artifacts at all. Chroma optimizer stripe is obtained applying chroma on top of gray or black ink in two vertical bands alternating with two bands where no chroma is ejected, so the user can see whether CO nozzles are firing correctly or not. The shinny, darker and slightly wrinkled bands are the parts covered with CO.
Anyway, to show correctly a nozzle test it's better to scan the page. Handheld photos are usually skewed or distorted and sometimes unevenly lighted, like this one. where the right side is darker, probably because of the shadows projected by the photographer itself.

Incidentally, the firmware version of your “potential” printer is v1.110 while my unit is v1.000 and the OP machine is v1.030. My Pro10s was purchased in June 2018 so, if firmware versions are something to go by, your printer must be quite new, but only Canon knows for sure.

I wonder what kind of “improvements” they made from v1.000 to v1.110. No, I’m not interested on updating (if it were possible), If it works, don’t fix it..:D

Thanks @Artur5 to confirm the nozzle check of the CO is OK.

The printer seems to be a PRO-10, not an S, but has a low page count.
I would try an offer of € 250. As from former experience with the PRO9500 II, chances are the printhead will last another 2 years.
Spares are € 160-180 now, so that's still less than a new printer.
In fact I would lay it up for the moment my PRO9500 II's fail (wich could be years ahead, since I still have 2 working and 1 new printhead).
Maybe a stupid idea ...

Not an easy decision, Who knows how long the printheads of your Pro9500s will last or if that Pro10 would fail quite soon.
Personally I’m nowadays reluctant to buy secondhand printers, not for the machines but because of the printheads.
Maybe it was bad luck. I’ve purchased 3 secondhand Canons during the past 4 or 5 years (IP4000, IP4500, Pro9000) All three from vendors in my area, so shipping was reasonable. The printers were OK on arrival and nozzle checks fine, but none of the printheads lasted long. Barely one year for the IP4000 and IP4500; something more for the Pro9000.
