Not to get too far OT, but I did message the company and received a link in it to this announcement;
"A message from the new owner of Precision Colors
Hello Precision Colors Customers-
My name is Matt, and I’m the new owner of Precision Colors. I recently purchased the business from Mike in...
Understood, I wasn't sure if it was that or just the three pigment colors. Just never have seen it this bad in all these years and with different bulk ink suppliers. I forgot the name of the other guy I use to get ink from, he was also well known here, I believe he was from either NJ or PA.
I just tried a number of random test using a 1 or 2 line series of letters.
I also checked "Grayscale" printing (which I doubt I ever used that) and the guaranteed 'smear' result was that which was expected.
Again I used Open Office and Notepad2 typing up a row of random letters (I didn't need a...
If that was the case, none of this would of been happening since my 'default' setting is 'Plain Paper and either 'Standard' or 'Fast' no matter what the job is, OTHER than a photo or some other document that needs a 'better' print result especially when using higher grade paper. ;)
Funny you mentioned this as I just ordered from them and found the order was shipped from Northbroook, IL where it used to be shipped from Niagara Falls NY (customs after clearing customs) which is a stones throw from where I am. I hope it's only the location (and country) that changed.
I...
I've printed one document, then printed a different one just after, one was ok, the other wasn't. Can't make this stuff up. :he
Initially I assumed I switched inks(that would be too easy), but I have ruled it out. I also thought it's a glitch/corrupted something, somewhere, but I'm kind ruling...
FYI, this is one of the 1st series of Canon ink jets with the dreaded 'chip' in the tanks, but unlike the models after these, this are re-settable.
I'm having a problem printing certain documents out regarding using a hi-lighter afterwards on the document.
With some, the text gets smeared...
Sorry for the delayed response.
A million thanks to The Hat :bow
Thru a few messages and suggestions/observations he cleared thing up for me. Long story short, apparently, just apparently, (since there is no other explanation), I must of drew ink for the Photo dye bottle instead of the...
It apparently isn't that.
It appears to be the ink from Ink Owl from 10/20. The bottled is labeled "Pigment Black" which I have been using for some time. The 'carts are newly nflushed form one of you guys a number of years ago when I was having issues with printbheads which turned out to be old...
ip 4300
After probably almost 20 years a may be 3 printers, I'm still refilling.
I'd rather fight than switch! Hell with those chip swaps and all the other tricks Canon has come up with. !
:p
I just swapped my black cart which was low in a ip4300 with a refilled cart (one tank in the printer, the other refilled ready to go). When I used a 'highlighter' the black print smeared terrible which NEVER happened before using Cannon printers (probably over 15 years worth)
I wonder if I mixed...
A organization I'm a member of received a couple of older printers. One is these is HP. I had to do some initial research since I haven't owned a HP for almost 20 years or so. I realize it's a older printer, but it was donated. I have already told them figure the Printhead and the carts will...
This model came out around 2007. I do have a 2nd copier/printer, but the document feeder doesn't pull paper in properly. I just never opened it up to clean the rollers since it isn't easy to do so. Opening the main unit is even worse. I do have the Service Manual, one thing I do make it a point...
Ok, you are talking about the Drum unit, NOT the cartridge that holds just the toner. The wiper blade and toner drum itself, unless that machine has a entirety different design.
"cartridge" or drum?
The cartridge only holds the toner that empties it into the 'hopper' of the drum.
Assuming you meant the 'drum', I just proved it was the toner since the prints are 95%+ good. I tossed the over 18 month old toner, it's not worth destroying a $130 drum unit that is almost...
