    Init problems with 3880

Thank you for the tips. I will carefully take the housing off while taking photos. I will then figure out what is wrong with the capping station. Hopefully all the parts are still there. I see where I need to bend some plastic parts on the cover to get the cover off of its hinges. I wonder how...

    Init problems with 3880

So you do not think that I popped the capping station off of its hinges? Perhaps I can rotate the gear to the point where I can reinstall the capping station on its "hinge"??? I do have the maintenance manual so this may turn into a big project for me. BTW this is the last time I clean the...

    Init problems with 3880

The capping station came loose. This may be the problem. I pressed down too much on the capping station with the needle of the syringe that I used to clean the pads. Now what? Meacula! LOL

    Init problems with 3880

Hello all! When I turn the printer on, it goes through its initialization procedure. During this process, the print head moves right to the capping station. This is where it makes some unusual repetitive sounds. It is like two cogged wheels are slipping against each other. I may know what has...

    Epson 3880 problems

I have performed a successful nozzel check pattern. I then tried to perform a print head alignnment This part does not end successfully, and ends with an auto adjustment error. I have tried this several times to no success. Where can I go from here? Bob

OK I see the after rebate prices being offered on Amazon. So I am now offering all my Canon photo paper for free with the printer.

FS: Canon Pro-10 printer Tucson, AZ

I have a fully functional relatively new Canon PIXMA Pro-10 pigmented dye inkjet printer. I have replacement ink cartridges for some of the colors. The printer did not meet my print volume need WRT the cost of the ink. So I now am using a new Epson 3880 Designer Edition for my purposes. I do...

    CMYK measurement data

Yes, I will look into ArgyllCMS for my purposes. My limited impression is that this software is powerful but requires allot of study. I do not see much use of it on the forums regarding the measurement of CMYK targets, so there are not many real world examples to go by. But ArgyllCMS is powerful...

    CMYK measurement data

I sm using a new Epson 3880 Designer version that comes with the EFI Fiery RIP. Now, my needing "an app that can print to CMYK" means what? Doesn't the RIP do this? I can see where I need an app to generate CMYK measurements for the profiling software. There must be a relatively inexpensive tool...

    CMYK measurement data

I am working to create a CMYK profile for a RIP. Is there relatively inexpensive software that will permit me to measures a CMYK target to end up with CMYK measurement data? Also, where can I find CMYK targets? I am going to be using Copra to generate the profile.

Use of long sheets cut from roll paper for 3880

i am using a RIP that came with my printer, the Epson 3880 Designer Edition. Using the RIP, I want to print on sheets of photo paper that is longer than the Epson can natively print. Is this practical? I am going to precut the sheet from a roll of paper.

    EFI Fiery RIP

I have the Fiery Express RIP that came with my Epson 3880. I am going to create a profile for my printer using a given paper-ink combination. I have read the documentation. There is one step where I am to depress the "Calibrate" button before I print out the target. There is no such button. I am...

Creating an excellent profile with i1Photo Pro 2?

I have been on a quest to find the most accurate profile for my photo editing needs. I have tried SpyderPrint, Colormunki Photo, and the i1Photo Pro 2. I have found that the Colormunki provides very good profiles considering the 50+50 target that is used. I thought the i1Pro would be able to do...

You know what the problem is with SpyderPrint?

Thank you! Just for shits and giggles, I decided to profile my monitor with the Colormunki. The Spyder4Elite did an "OK" job, not as good as I expected for the caliber of my monitor. I am using the Spectraview II software on my NEC PA242W-BK monitor. So I then used the Colormunki Photo with the...
