Thanks to all for the feedback. I guess I needed to hear this as a reality check.
I just wondered... I thought I'd gathered from all this years reading through the forum that new print heads for the Pro 100(s) are not available, and the only ones you can find are 'refurbished' from China, with...
Hello there,
Thanks for your great advice and video!
I followed your guidelines and cleaned the print head last week to get my Pro-100s out of B200 error misery, soaked it well, dried it and it printed fine afterwards. Print test page came out perfect.
But then I tried to print again now and...
Hello everyone,
Reporting back here.
Flushed the grey, light grey, black and cyan carts. Filled up with nex ink.
Thanks to all your great advice this was even a relatively pleasant task, though I now really understand where 'getting fingers dirty' forum status comes from. I will certainly never...
Thank you all for your replies and thoughtful options.
I will start by flushing and refilling said carts.
I honestly believe never having filled the carts with the wrong ink, but maybe this decoloring too is linked to the inks being already three years old? @websnail have you ever seen anything...
Thank you for your swift reply, @The Hat !
Here's a new nozzle check (overview and detail) and a new test print. Bottom right of the picture crop included because it's there that zones of disturbance appear.

Thanks again,

Hello everyone, glad to see how the forums here are thriving, with the industry clamping down on repair and durability, places like these are strongholds of independence!
But I'm writing right now because my Pro 100-S is suddenly giving me trouble.
Been cleaning and deep cleaning through the...
Hello everyone,
Hope you are doing and printing well.
I have a question regarding the previous posts here: I bought the pre-filled cart set from Octoink, totally sure that was a good choice, but now, at my first refilling moment with these carts, I think I have done something wrong.
Black...
Hello all,
When trying to find drivers for a working Pixma iP5200R, I discovered that it's impossible to find drivers for recent versions of Mac OS X for this printer. Does anyone know of a way to get drivers that work on OS X Mojave? Or more in general, to get an iP5200R working on a recent...
hi all,
hope you're all getting through this bizarre year alright..
I accidentally stumbled upon a working iP5200r - the web says it uses the same print head as the iP4500? Is the web correct?
In that case, consider me a happy lucky man.
best,
kasper
Makes me wonder if one of my resolutions for 2020 should be to make room in my studio by saying goodbye to my to iP4500's with dead printheads. I'd asked at the local IT recycling center to watch out for IP4500s coming in, but they haven't seen one coming in in over half a year so... breaks my...
Well... :) judging by the heavy silence following this post, I'm supposing the is the silence of the death of a printer? No hope for the ol' bugger?
I was afraid this would be the case... maybe I should like for a replacement printer so I can at least make use of the new OEM carts..
happy...
Love reading all your input. Very grateful also for the nuanced perspectives. This is a wonderful community, otherwise the kind of respectful dissent I read through these threads would not be possible.
Sounds like good thinking. When refilling when carts are 'low', will the printer have to do...
