Thanks @pharmacist. I think it is closer to 12-15 cycles. And the yellow is still there. But then, it is here the 2% carbon is. And 2% carbon is very ligth. It will resolve in a few weeks. ;)
I have just ditched a 3800 and a 3880. I had both for free with a history like yours. Mine printed reasonably well if I stayed with the MK and never switched to PK. If you want to print B&W. Read on. Use QTR and it will print beautifully. It takes som effort to get there but it is cheap and...
Thanks Phamacist. And now, when we are discussing the p900. Do you know what dilution to use in Paul Roarks Carbon inkset, when it comes til GY and LGY (LK and LLK). I want to be able to print through QTR and also Epson Print Layout so the Carbon I put in the GY and LGY should match Epson ink...
Hi.
My (old) SC P900 now prints perfectly on all cylinders but the magenta and I will covert it to print B&W with QTR with the known limitations. I will need 6 cylinders for B&W carbon inkset- check. (could go with less!!)
For the last 2 weeks i have printed with a new clean set of catridges...
Thanks. That gives about 20 ml for each cartridge. Gives me time to consider which way to go. I think it will be wise to keep workable Epson cartridges, should problem arise. Printer will arrive today. Too bulky for normal delivery. I don´t have to rebuild the house but need to clear some space...
Thanks
Thanks John. Helped a lot. P900 is ordered plus an extra LGY.
ChatGPT says 15-20 ml ink will be used at startup. Gives me time to find out if I will go third party or not.
I gave up on my faulty p900. At least I dont want to spend more time on it. I still want to go Epson and A2 and the p900 is an option. In Denmark I can get one for 1.100 € online and I have found a p800 on a craigslist www.dba.dk for 800 €. No warranty. Brand new. Unused and cartridges not...
Thanks everybody for your responses and advice.
I’ve decided to give up on this printer as a 100% working tool for color printing.
Magenta ink appears in nozzle checks only when I apply a bit of pressure to the outlet chamber of the cartridge. I believe the problem lies in the cartridge itself...
3.2.3 I will look into the wiper, eventually dirty cap and forign matter adhering to the print head. I will use windex and polyalcohol and lot of patience while performing under printhead cleaning. (if possible modus Entlich) ??
I experienced that cranking the printer up the printhead doesnt...
OK. I didnt say that would be my only way to go. Just pointin out that QTR is a good tool for B&W printing and as a diagnostic tool.
now I will look into @thebestcpu suggestions. And reread Arthur Entlichs manual for cleaning.
Question again. Is the way to go, patience and TLC as prescibed by Arthur Entlich. and that is: No pressure flushing, that is flush cartridge, under carriage "wetting" withe lint free cotton or paper?
When it comes to checking the tubes and dampers it is out of my reach, and then I have a B&W...
