Now you've calibrated everything: what lights do you use?

Actually I am having the same problem: I am looking for a lighting fixture for the SoLux bulbs since I cannot put them in the ceiling. In Switzerland it is very difficult to find, in the UK I found these...

Now you've calibrated everything: what lights do you use?

Hi everyone Your tips are excellent! I actually let prints rest at least 24 hours so I usually print early afternoon and frame the next evening. I will order some SoLux lamps from the UK (I found a seller in Switzerland that charges x3 ...). But I want to try also with leds and see what I get...

I then wonder if fluorescent products advertised for color proofing also work when I look at their spectra http://www.osram.com/osram_com/products/lamps/fluorescent-lamps/fluorescent-lamps-t8/fluorescent-lamps-t8-special-versions/color-proof-t8/index.jsp?productId=ZMP_60373...

Now you've calibrated everything: what lights do you use?

Hi Palombian I do softproofing but I see differences especially with some high contrast B&W images that unless lighted properly, there are plenty of details lost in the shadows. It might very well be that eyes adjust to the highlights more easily. Yes, I also plan to try a couple of LED bulbs...

That means I need to look at them while being out in the snow? Besides, it is this time of the year that it is really really dark...

Hope that was OK  You might as well look at this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_CRI_LED_Lighting CRI is one thing and of course how the whole spectrum is rendered is important. But our eyes are not equally sensitive to the whole spectrum, are they? Plus, are the same light...

Now you've calibrated everything: what lights do you use?

Hi all now that winter has come I feel I need better lighting to check my prints from my Epson R3000. Long story short: I see 3 options: 1. Halogens: only SoLux have something like 3500K with CRI>90 but they are not available in Europe 2. Fluorescents: Osram and Philips lamps for proofing...

Time is here to select a refill system for R3000

Hi all thanks for the tips, it's interesting to see answers coming from Canon users :) you seem to be friendlier? I think Cone inks do not deliver to Europe... I was actually looking at this one http://www.specialistinks.com/marruttr3000-bulk-ink-system.php and was wondering if precision...

Time is here to select a refill system for R3000

Hi all it's been a long time since I last posted something. So happy new year everyone! Last year I got the good advice of the people in this forum and bought myself an Epson R3000. I am quite happy with the printer and enjoy very much printing although I still have not seen a jaw dropping...
