I have one cli-8bk cartridge that doesn't seem to be working. I get a message from the printer to check for the cartridge w/o a light - it has a problem. The only option is to cancel printing. I've used a resetter on it and it lights up on reinstall but I can't print w/o getting the error...
I have been refilling (successfully) the cartridges on my ip4500 for some time. Today I get an error message when I try to print - "An ink tank error has occurred. Open the printer and replace the ink tank on which the light is off." Well, the lights are off for all of my cartridges save the big...
Thanks, now I get the picture better. In bending the tab down to gain access, it would appear that it would be easy to break the tab off. Has this been a problem?
If one cuts the tab off for viewing doesn't one lose the seating 'lock' that is on the tab? Does this not cause a problem, e.g. the cartridge unseating from the head?
Thanks.
Wonder if anyone else has experienced this and how you fixed it. I have the
"Preview before printing" checked in my Printer preferences but it no longer

I've tried reinstalling s/w...
San Jose is a long way from Houston. Guess I will have to have some friends keep an eye out on Fry's ads here since I don't subscribe to the local rag. Thanks.
I've been watching for rebates/sales/etc. on the 4300 and have seen nothing under $80; I would love to know where a $60 (including shipping) printer can be had.
Thanks.
I can purchase a new ip4200 for a good price but realize it has been replaced with the higher nozzle and faster ip4300. I have the option of waiting until a decent sale and getting it instead.
However, I don't know if the 4300 is really any different in output quality than the 4200 for photo...
FWIW at this stage I have replaced the cyan cartridge AND removed the print head and gave it a good washing to clean it. The problem still exists. At this stage I can only guess that the print head is 'all mixed up'. I am going to play around with adjusting the driver color balance but I really...
Tigerwan - thanks. I'll go 'abrowsin' and maybe something will be a key to my problem.
hpnetserver - I refill so everytime I run a calibration and nozzle check and the nozzle check looks great (as always).
Standing back I'm fearful I have a bad board. I got this printer from Sam's under...
I'm w/o a service manual although I thought in the distant past I had seen references to downloadable versions (but for my printer?). Only link I have found no longer offers a download of the manual for free.
