This is BKPG - only really used for regular A4 text printing - the nozzle check is done on the same paper (regular 90gsm plain paper).
Ps, have printed photos fine and there is no 'scraping off' i'm afraid.
Thanks for the reply.
However I thought that using dye ink could damage the print head (may already be damaged?)
Is there any other way of cleaning - using water?
Looking at this nozzle check of my ip4200 PGBK shows a small gap on the right hand column.
The consequences are horrendious tho.
Any suggestions??
ps. i've done all cleaning options - regular and 'deep'
update: refilled properly this time, putting scotch tape over the outlet as i threw away the orange cap - worked like a charm.
However i am still sealing the fill hole with the ball i removed (just under 'press here' on the cli8 carts) and just wonder how wrong things could go if this seal...
not entirely sure what websnail means about 'learned anything and void things'
I do fully understand my actions and the effect on warranty - also the nag screen etc - i have no problems with that either.
Anyway, thanks for the tips about taping up the outlet hole, that is absolutely the reason...
like a donut, i forgot to keep the orange caps when i got the printer / carts new.
any idea where i could source these or any tips for alternative methods?
Here are my experiences of refilling a CLI8 cartridge on my canon ip4200.
As following the instructions from re-ink.com
1) remove ball under label
WOOOOSH goes the ink as it gets sucked into the sponge.
2) insert 5ml of ink into cartridge
WOOOOSH as that ink gets sucked into the sponge.
3)...
yeah, i had read the thread on hole filling before i posted earlier,
just recieved an email back from reinks, and they say to remove the ball, fill up, then replace the ball - doesnt need fastening according to them (although i think some tape over the top at least).
btw, they supply a 'tool'...
i have ordered some ink for the cli-8 series from that site - reinks.com
unsure quite how is best to refill the cart though - their instructions say to remove the ball (is that the inking hole?), but not what to do when finished!
