@LumEtters, I wouldn’t use a bog standard CISS on this type of pigment printer, you’ll end up with more problems than it’s worth, if you can fit one then use something like this... (Homemade)

I'm building a CISS at the moment. Tight spaces are taxing my imagination. But, that part is worked out. Testing different adhesives. Hot glue melts the tubing. Shame. Woodah worked, except for that little issue. I will take a pic, one it works.

The homebrew CISS is finished for the HP-6968. 4 pigments ink carts.

Secret sauce is assuring the tubing loop rises on the return to park. If the loop is down the print head runs into the tubing droop on the way to park. This unit has a scanner above the print head and the ceiling above the head is close. Very little room for the print head to pass below the tubing. The printer firmware runs the print head through clearance and jam tests. The usual plastic parts (I had) are too thick to allow the print head free movement. Therefore, I used hot glue to stick a square piece of the plastic that enclosed copper wire from our hardware store to the top of the black cartridge. Then glued the tubing to that thin square with Loctite Vinyl, Fabric & Plastic adhesive. It looks like the Loctite bonds well enough to the tubing to handle the stress from the loop of tubing at its maximum extension.

A YouTube demo for the HP-6968 showed a CISS was possible. But, the YouTube video cleverly doesn't show how the tubing was attached to the print head. (That's the secret sauce, after all)

If the glue approach failed, I would have tried a pair of cable ties forming an "X" to hold the tubing to the black cartridge. However, I don't know whether there is enough clearance under the black cart to allow a thin cable tie to pass under the cart. If there is room, cable ties would be a cleaner approach and simpler to transfer the CISS to other carts.

These carts that come with the printer don't hold much ink. HP wants to at least break even a few minutes following the buyer's first test runs when the buyer drives back to the store for a set of carts. I made one print run with the CISS and saw the ink was low. Now, no more printing until the ink from InkOwl arrives.

I gave up (weeks back) trying to build a CISS for the multi-function HP6968. The space above the cartridge path is very limited. I tried several tubing support positions and none prevented the tubing from eventually kinking and/or blocking the printhead's movement.

Refillable carts with ARC chips seem hard to find for the HP6968. I switched to a Canon.

When there were printing needs almost every day for the business or personal stuff the CISS on the Canon iP4200 was very convenient. I'll skip the CISS for the new Canon 2720 in favor of refillable carts. A refilling once or twice yearly doesn't seem very inconvenient. Besides, I'm retired and have the time to think of other challenges beyond CISS systems. And if I can't think of something by myself, there's the fallback option. Wife.
