I had the same thought reagarding showing this patch overlays when a ti3 file is available and you want to remeasure a chart. Once a ti3 is available this should even work for regular chartread. However I have tied those new viewing options to the new engine.
perfect
More for me for later as a space to save my thoughts: When a ti3 is already available for a chart you want to measure in the measure tab this is recognized by ChromIQ anyway and you get an additional option to re-measure the chart instead of starting from scratch (I don’t know the exact name for this option and I am on my phone at the moment but I guess it is the refinement measurement or something).
I think it should bo possible to add another option in a similar way that allows you to show the overlay based of the ti3 that is available.
again perfect, i think that if i reload a profile and go to the measure chart and it found a ti3 file, it should shows it directly, but if you prefer an option is the same
That fallback to stock chartread was built in because of the feedback you gave a few days ago (you mentioned that you had more success with it than with the engine). So Claude decided to do this as a fallback for connection issues. But I think it should be possible to add a pop up window with friendly, extensive and easy to understand information for the user that would give him some option for how he would like to act on this (note: no text in the window or its buttons must be cut off using the apps real styling, needs to be confirmed visually by me because claude sometimes makes mistakes with such ui elements).
you are right, but todays also chromiq chartread seems to work good and i finished the old profile scanned with argyl chartread
I can’t promise anything though because I will be on vacation starting this sunday and I won’t bring my laptop with me as my involvement with the app causes some discussion with my family. The same is true for Knut by the way. It looks like magic what AI is doing but you still have to look at every step it does, test things and at a point this got completely out of hand and became this big of project and we are starting to implement features we will never need ourselves (this does not refer to your request though by the way - as I mentioned I thought about this myself anyway).
And to be completely honest with you: the idea was to make an app that I would use myself. But so far I have never really used it myself for its purpose. The only reason I open is is to try out stuff that we added and find out bugs or anything that is bad about it to improve on it. Some days it is better but sometimes it is eating you up
take all the time you need, no hurry here, you did already a really good job with this app

relax and happy holidays,

just to add something to the list:

- another good feature would be the fact of choosing with the mouse a single patch and make a spotread (like argyll tool) to read just the single patch several times and than average the values got, always if possible, so one can reread only the highest Delta-E patches.

- in the gamut analisys is possible to rotate the shape, but when i compare two profiles if i rotate one of the shape and switch on the other one it will show from the starting position, if i come back to the other one (that i had rotated) it shows again in the starting position, in this way i can't switch between them to see the differences

i attach the two profile i built with Argyll chartread and Chromiq chartread (this one has lower delta-e error)

a little bug, in the check & refine tab, when it compare two profiles and i adjust the opacity or saturation, if i switch to profile A or B and then come back to Combined, the opacity and saturation keep the right values but they are showed like the default values,

infact if i move the opacity or saturation slider just a tiny and come back to the previous value they appears like would be.

I will read everything in detail later. Reading the changelog of beta 14 I think it missed to give the option for the user whether to fallback to default chartread or not and only saves the measurement which it sadly did not before. I missed that sorry.

For clarification: this „like spotread“ request is something that is not already there in chartread for when you are using it in strip reading mode right? Or did I just not notice it?
Some of the fundamentals are there (try using patch by patch mode to see that you can select individual patches - it just does not have the averaging and is slow in general).

For the glossy thing in build profile tab I am not the right person to answer I guess

Matte as plain paper is a non-reflective surface. I've read a bunch of your earlier posts and it looks like your i1 Pro spectros are either bad or the USB connection is problematic. I have an i1 Pro Rev D that is over 10 years old and have done a bunch of beta testing on earlier versions of this software. I don't need all the bells and whistles that are currently under discussion. I have had no issues at all in creating charts, printing, reading and making profiles. I've done about 15 different runs to test for bugs to report back to Sebastian.

For all my use needs the stable build version 3.13.1. this works extremely well if all you need to do is create great profiles for your printer. @pharmacist created a good target with lots of near normals that works as well as doing the old two step process with a pre-condition profile.

Unless you have a specific use case, the current stable versions will do a great job.
