Now have 3 Ender-3 V3 Plus SE/
over the years i've refilled the MP980's 6 ink carts for a total of 689 refills, most ink carts have only been replaced 2 or 3 times
Maybe you need to stock up on newer cartridges, because I found some of my BCI-6 carts failed in their seems and have now switched to using CLI-42’s for my i9950..

My oldest printer is a MG6200 which still continues to reject non OEM cartridges but can eventually print with some coaching but I have had to get rid of many canon printers from the days of the ip 3000 and 4000 and following on with the ip4500 up to the IP 4750 and then the IP 7250. What a pile of crap that was . All had print head failures. Still I have saved thousands of pounds refilling cartridges for these printers. Now i remain committed to Canon printers because of the TS700. This is the best standalone printer that Canon has produced, imo with no print head failures in my experience This is the IP4000 reborn. no resetters but refillable ink cartridges readilly available. Grab it while you can if you want a basisic inkjet printer capable of fantastic photo prints.
and duplex printing. Can't see Canon continuing the this printer for long. I also have a G500 for photo prints but my TS700 printers are the best I have ever owned for all round printing

..........the IP 7250. What a pile of crap that was.......
I agree I have also had an iP7250 and the MG5550. The printers of this series were clumsy, flimsy and noisy in my opinion. They also didn't have the rear paper feed so photo paper was loaded from the cassette or paper shelf. This often caused problems. They probably were the worst printers Canon made.

I agree. It seems the TS series of printers was much improved. I've also had a TS700, bought second hand. It was much more sturdily built than the previous series. Sadly it died from a printhead failure. I also have a TS8350 that works perfectly but also using the PGI-580/CLI-581 cartridges for which no resetter is available. Even the compatible cartridges are more expensive than those compatible with the PGI-570/CLI-571 cartridges.

@The Hat When was the i9950 made? I wonder if it is the oldest Canon inkjet printer still going strong?

I don’t really know, and it runs trouble free anytime I start her up, (About every month or so) still on 10 year old (Precision colour inks) from OctoInkjet..

It’s now the only dye ink printer I have left, and I still manage to get covered in ink when refilling...:th:lol:
