I don't know whether this is relevant, but Xrite's ColorPort and Babelcolor's Patchtool are two GUI programs which many color consultants used for years to create targets. I think both are free or abandonware these days. Patchtool in particular could read color out of targets, rearrange the squares etc.

ColorPort looks simple at first glance, but it can be reconfigured, and Bill Atkinson used it to generate monster target strips

AFAIK the Cgats formats etc are cast in stone, and therefore any old flexible program remains pretty useful these days, no need to reinvent the wheel or the bottle.

A good profile should have three to five color patches that are varied and balanced. In addition to highlighting versatility, this range is visually consistent without overwhelming the viewer.
Going to get rid of this bot (or idiot) posting AI generated drivel?

I think it's easier to just unsubscribe from the forums. You can't fight this

Thanks @edmundronald !
I did not know about Babelcolor's Patchtool. That seems great and work on my macos Sonoma, as well on my other macos Big Sur. Downloadable from https://babelcolor.com/download.htm#xl_Download_PatchTool

However, only a few of the SpyderPrint Targets loaded correctly, which enabled extracting color values. Many of the target images were read wrongly such that no patches came out, thus could not create patch values from them. Though, I was able to load the ti1 or ti2 files I created with the script read_image_patch_colors. This way I could save and convert the image patch color values to almost any format I want, which is quite useful.

ColorPort I cant find available online anymore.

Cheers,
K
