Epson ET-8550 Bronzing?

Let me guess: MacOS ????... DON'T install the Airprint driver, that is a recipe for disaster. deinstall them and install the ones of Epson you have downloaded for your version of MacOS. After each update MacOS tends to remove the proprietary drivers in favour of its Airprint drivers causing havoc in prints and/or color management.

I haven't got the airprint driver installed.

As suggested I made a print on premium semiglossy (I'm out of premium glossy), under standard gloss paper media setting. No improvement...same bronzing problem.

Everbody who had a problem under MacOS with airprint driver told that.
Do you have Epson Print Layout installed? If you can use it ,so you have the genuine Epson driver installed.
You can print from EPL to avoid colorsync dobleprofilling.

Are you sure ??? MacOS tends to override the drivers after an update overwriting the previous proprietary Canon and Epson drivers with their own Airprint drivers. Please double check if you can disable color management in the printer driver setting .

Here my test for you with my ET8550 with genuine Epson inks (only gray and cyan have been refiled with new genuine ink)
I have print the testimage on Sihl photoglossy 280g paper with the Epson Premium Glossy media setting and colorprofile ,and one print with my own made profile.
You can see very litte bornzing effect on both but not so strenght then yours.
On the left side is the print with Epson profile ,right is my custom profile .The custom made profile have slightly better neutrallity.

ps. I also have Epson Premium Glossy paper ,but it performs very similar to the Sihl paper.

I don't think that I can be of further help, I work with Windows , and I'm doing a reduction of 10% when printing on the Sihl 280g ; I cannot compare test prints printed on a Mac system. I see bronzing if I don't reduce the ink density.

Me too,I am also a Windows user.And i set my Print density slider on -4 for the sihl paper.
With my test i only will show that my ET8550 on my papers(printed from Win10) ,is not affected by bronzing.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm making prints via Epson Print Layout, so no airprint issues.

Since I had no issue with bronzing when I was using my old ET-7750, I really do think my initial guess that the PB channel has somehow been contaminated with pigment ink is perhaps correct after all.

When my fresh ink order arrives from the Epson store, I'll drain the PB channel and fill up with fresh PB ink. Hopefully this weekend.
